Some of the songs that I'm gonna play tonight, I definitely
Again, I picked them because I like them, but I also picked them because they challenged me.
They brought me to places that I have not been before.
And this one was a song that used to rumble up through the floor.
I'd be going to bed as a little kid and my dad would be having some party with his friends downstairs
and he'd be cranking up the Muddy Waters records.
And this one actually has, I think, the loudest instrument in the mix of this original version.
It's not the guitar, but the harmonica.
And the harmonica is doing all these little bends, which is great, because guitar can bend too.
[A] So what I tried to do is play the guitar part, or at least one guitar note of the rhythm
and the harmonica at the same time.
[Cm] So it's [E]
[F] [G] [Fm] like
And the trick there, this took me a long time to work it out, so I had to pick the most important notes.
But the last three chords are just octaves.
[F#] But [G] on [F] the second one, I play a major 7th, which is kind of a dissonant interval.
And then I bend up one of the notes.
[G] [E]
[C] It just gives it that little special something.
And so in this I'm trying to cop some of the harmonica stuff.
And another thing I've discovered that, at Guitar Center
First of all, thank you Guitar Center for having me here.
The song is called Baby I Wants to Be Loved.
And I'm going to give it to you as best way I can with some harmonica bends and some Muddy Water lead vocals.
