[Eb] Cut.
Yeah.
Okay.
Are you ready?
Yes.
Coming up.
Explanation.
Coming up.
Yeah.
So I started it off with the drum.
You wanna love your life forever.
One that will never fade away. Et cetera.
And [Bbm] then I put [Eb] some bass on it.
The drums, the drummer character in the video,
I based kind of loosely on John Bonham,
who's a friend of mine.
[Ab] One of the [Bbm] guitar players I [Fm] based on Hank [Bbm] Marvin,
who was out of [Eb] Cliff Richard's [Ab] Shadows.
[Eb] One of the guys in a group [Ab] called The [Bbm] Sparks,
who's a [Ab] pianist, [Bbm] a little mustache.
[Eb] So I based [Ab] characters on [Gb] [Eb] just some people I knew,
somebody I'd seen, and I made the rest up.
Anyway, so I multi-layered everything.
Put some bass, drums, guitars, saxophones,
vocal, et cetera.
Messed around with the speed of the tape,
[Bbm] and eventually [Ab] came to make the video,
[Bbm] which was with a guy called [Cm] Keith McMillan,
[Ab] Keef, [Cm] [Fm] who had the [Ebm] idea to do the same [Eb] thing on the video
[Ab] that I'd done [Bbm] on the record, and [Cm] multi-layer it.
[Bb] So it was a [Eb] really kind of amazing [Db] technique at the [Eb] time.
It was not easy to do.
You had to be aware of who [Ab] was here,
who was here, you had to [Gb] interact [Ab] with them.
And I [Fm] had to be very [Eb] careful about where I stood,
or else I'd kind of walk out of the picture.
But anyway, so I just did all these characters.
Just spent, I don't know, a good couple of days, I think,
just building up slowly, methodically,
all these characters, until you see the final video
with the drummer, guitar players, sax players,
one of whom can't keep in sync,
[Ab] [Bbm] and me at the [Cm] front, and [Fm] Linda doing [Eb] the backing [Ab] vocals,
