[Fm] Set [Cm] up one, take nine.
Yeah, [D] throughout the years I've always [G] been interested in multimedia.
[C] I always had [F] ideas for [Cm] making films, [F] thinking of album covers, [C] doing the [F] music.
I kind [Am] of, with The Beatles, I directed the [F] Magical Mystery Tour film.
[Dm] And I always enjoyed playing [Am] around in those other areas [F] besides [G] just making music.
[C] So for [G] instance, I like painting, I like [C] writing poetry and stuff.
So the opportunity came up to direct [Eb] Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp in the [F] My Valentine movie,
which was from an [Eb] idea by my daughter Stella, who said, why don't you just [Cm] get them to do sign language?
[D] So I did.
I rang them up, [G] asked them if they would do it.
[C] And they came along and I sat them in this [Cm] small [Fm] studio with a very [Cm] simple backdrop and a great camera,
a beautiful old 70mm camera, which was operated by Wally Pfister, who was one of [G] the great [Eb] Hollywood cameramen.
And he and I just [F] cooked up a great shot.
[Fm] The lighting was beautiful.
He [Eb] supervised all of that.
And really all I had to do was [D] just sort of say, yeah, that's it.
And I just asked Natalie [G] if she would just come in, [Dm] stay, do [Cm] nothing virtually except look at the [F] camera [C] and sign into the camera.
[G] And [F] then the only [C] idea that we needed was what would she do during the [F] guitar solo?
[C] And she [F] just sort of suggested, well, [Am] why don't we just
She just [F] sort of closed down and [Dm] came again, woke up again [C] after the [F] solo.
So it was great.
[G] I felt very good doing that.
And the [Cm] best thing, I think, was that she trusted me to do it.
And then [Eb] Johnny, similarly, I've known him for a little while.
[F] And he [Fm] just sat in there [Bb] and he did it.
[Eb] The truth is, you know, it's easy to direct [Cm] if you have great [D] people and you have not a lot to direct.
[G] So I would say I was really
I was just there and I was [Cm] watching and just saying, yeah, that's [F] it.
Yeah, Wally, that's it.
[G] Yeah, Natalie, that's it.
[C] Yeah, Johnny, that's it.
It's a wrap.
[Cm] [Gm] [F] [Cm] [F]
[Cm] [Dm] [F] [Cm] What if it rained?
We didn't [Eb] care.
She said [F] that someday soon [Fm] the sun was going to [Cm] shine.
One holiday, me and my [D] Mrs.
Nancy, we weren't married [Gb] then.
We [C] were in Morocco [G] and it was raining and we'd come all this [C] way for a sunshine holiday.
[F] And it was raining [Cm] all the time, rained every day.
And I turned to her, I said, I'm really sorry about this, but I'm so sorry.
She said, it's not your fault.
It doesn't matter.
[Eb] It doesn't matter at all.
And so [F] later that week, I was [Fm] in a hotel foyer and [G] there used to be a piano there.
[Cm] So I went in there when there was not too [D] many people around, just a few of the waists clearing up and stuff.
[G] And I started making up this song.
[Cm] [C] And it was [F] Valentine's Day.
[C] [F] And I will love her [Dm] [G] for life.
[F] And I will never let a day [Am] go [Em] by
[Am]
[F] without remembering the reason as to why
she makes me certain that I can fly.
[G] And [Cm] so I do, without a care.
[Eb] I [F] know that someday [Fm] soon the sun is [Cm] going to shine.
And [D] she'll be there, this [G] love of mine, my [Cm] Valentine.
