[B] [E] Hi there.
Well, there is pure imagination and it's a real beautiful tune from Willy Wonka's
Chocolate Factory.
It's a song that I really didn't know much about until a
student asked me to do an arrangement for it and so I went ahead and did it.
He wanted an arrangement for his to play for Christmas for his dad.
So anyway, it
was his dad's favorite song.
So we went ahead and do it so and so now I thought
we'd make a lesson out of it and share it with everybody.
I've been working on
the song now.
I must have played it today about 30 times [Em] and it's still I almost
got it.
And when you think you got it right the volume isn't right on the
guitar.
But anyway, what a great little tune and it's a one of those songs that
you play very rubato, very emotional, emote, you emote with it.
And it's just a
pretty song.
So I advise you to take a look at the original recordings of these
songs.
It's funny this song has been cut by a lot of different people.
Lou Rawls
has got like a disco version of it or something.
It's kind of funny.
But they go
on YouTube and find some vocal renditions of the song and it'll help
you to play the song if you know the words.
Always remember that when you're
going to play a song it's best to know the words because you do your phrasing
as if you're singing it.
So I want you to think about that.
So let's go through
with some close-ups on the tune.
As you can hear we've got some runs in it
with some jazz counter lines and some different harmonies.
It's a real
beautiful tune and I think you're going to enjoy it.
It's going to be a nice song
for your repertoire.
So let's get into it with some close-ups and let's get your
hands hurting.
Okay, come on now.
Here we go.
Now there's a couple of ways you can go.
