Raymond Fairchild at the Maggie Valley Opry House (part 1 of 2) chords
Start Jamming...
Well, the style, the mountain style used to be, they call that the claw hammer style.
[G]
Then there's a two-finger style.
I'm talking about they didn't use no picks, but I'm using picks, you know.
Say Francis Cripple Creek, he'd call it, this is two-finger.
[Gm] [B]
[G] That's the claw hammer and the two-finger style.
And then the three-finger style is about the only style of banjo I play.
There are more, but that's the only three I play.
My name's Raymond Fairchild.
I run the Opry House here in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, along with my wife Shirley.
From April through October, and I also work lots of festivals all over the United States.
And on the bass fiddle is the greatest bass fiddle player in bluegrass music today, Eddie Loveless.
And on guitar, he started work for me when he was 16 years old on bass.
Played for 21 years.
Then he fell out of music for a while, and when he come back, he come back on guitar.
And when it comes to playing the guitar, the bass, singing lead, and baritone, he's the greatest.
It just takes big feet to fill the shoes he wears.
I ain't never seen feet that big yet.
I call him Darling Wanko.
What do you say we do one that you mentioned earlier, entitled Whoa Mule?
Whoa, boy, that's my number one.
That's the one that got all my gold records.
And this is the one that kept me in the banjo-picking business.
Are you ready, boys?
