[C] Revelation Song was written by a lady named Jenny Lee Riddle, and a good friend of mine,
[G] amazing woman of God.
I actually wrote the song in response to a decade-long [D] prayer that came out of another
[C] song written by Garrett Geftison.
In it, he said, I see men from every nation bowing down before the throne.
And from the first [G] time I heard that song, I knew that he had written it out of what
he foresaw, [D] and it had become my earnest prayer to [G] see it become a reality in my [C] lifetime.
And I prayed constantly that Jesus would rise up one bride to lift up one voice to one king.
[G] So I was reminded of that.
And during that period, [D] the worship songs at that time were more prayer-oriented, [C] and
there's a lot of I and me in [Am] them, acknowledging [C] just us.
I was at a point that [G] day, and lived there actually a lot, where I have enough of me.
And I [D] had had enough of me ad nauseum.
[G] And I felt like the whole church kind of [C] had, too.
And we needed something so—we needed a side of Jesus.
We needed somebody so much bigger than ourselves, and to lift [B] our eyes up off of our daily,
and off [F#] of the rubble, and off of the worry, and magnify Him.
[C#m] Lamb who was [E] slain, hold your head up high.
Well, I love [B] Revelation's song.
It's a song we've sung in church many times, and [F#] as a group we've talked about trying to
cover the song at the right time.
[C#m] We [E] felt passionate about the song.
But when I [B] hear that song, whatever circumstance I'm in, it takes me to that place.
[F#] And where is that place?
It's in the presence of Jesus Christ.
[C#m] I never had any [E] idea it would travel like it has, and bless as many people as it has.
And it's such [B] a dear and precious thing, because God is letting me see [F#] my prayers come true.
I've asked Him [C#m] that we would all get to see one [E] bride come together, and lift one voice
to one king.
[B] And to get to see her, every generation, [F#] every denomination, every nationality [C#m] singing to
Him, [E] and just enjoying His beauty, and His holiness, [B] and Him wrapping her up as one,
has been just overwhelming and [G] humbling.
[D] With all creation [Am] I sing, praise to the King of kings.
[C] I don't know how many times I've sung that song, but literally [G] every single time, the
Lord's presence is [D] brand new and anointed, and He comes.
I think it's His [Am] favorite song.
There was this one time in particular at a [Gm] Christ for the Nations worship [C] conference,
[G]
and Carrie was leading.
And it was a mind-blowing time with the Lord.
[D]
And the whole place just erupted [G] with this true [Am] desire to see Him.
And not just see Him, [C] but they [E] erupted with a desire for His return.
[Cm] And I could [G] feel the heart of the church just starting to [D] really, really ask Him to return.
It's all about the Lord, and [Am] it's all about His glory, and it's a [C] foretaste of what we're
going to sing to Him in heaven about His glory [A] and His presence, [G] that He's worthy of our worship.
[F#] If churches are not already singing a Revelation [C#m] song, they will [E] begin to sing it, because
it is definitely a song that transports people to a [B] place in Christ that only a song like
[F#] this can do.
The unique thing about God is that when you magnify Him, instead of seeing flaws [B] like
you and I do when we look in a magnifying mirror, we actually see the greatness of God.
[F#] And we see the longsuffering, the mercy, the gentleness of our [C#m] Lord.
And that's why this song [E] is so awesome, because it magnifies [B] the person of Christ who is worthy
to be prayed.
