Magnolia Wind, it's never a hit song, but it has entered the culture.

And so what do you remember about writing that song?
Well, Sis Draper was the first song in a series of songs that I wrote with Guy about a real
life character in my family.
[F] She wasn't in my family, but a friend of the family.
[Gb] [Abm] And so we started with that, and the second song was Magnolia Wind, and that's a sis song.
And it was really specifically writing that one is kind [D] of hard to remember much about.
Really?
You know, they were all kind of a big blur.
Everything was, all of those songs.
But we wrote them all about [Db] sis and the characters in my family.
And that was just a love song between [Bb] sis and say my granddaddy.
Some of it's fictionalized, so it was a little bit of a
We were just dreaming about a dance that she had played at, and she was drifting through,
and they all fell in love with her.
So that's what that kind of was about.
[E] We wrote a dozen songs around fiddle tunes and around sis, and so one of these days I'm
going to put them all in a package.
I was going to do it with Guy, but it just kind of got where there wasn't a possibility.
