Hey guys, welcome back again to Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy, where the proof is in the singing.
I'm here with my student Zia Mar Crystal, by the way we spell that X I O.
Anyway, she's actually from London, originally from Portugal, and we decided to take on an Aerosmith piece.
The song is called Crying.
We're going to do it first, and talk about it after, like we always do, but we're going
to get it to sound really close to Steve and Tyler's voice and timbre.
So a little tough piece to do.
We'll do it first, we'll talk about it after, like we always do.
Let's do it.

Good job!
Good job!
Alright, [G#] so, what we've done, is we've taken Steven, who has a lot of [N] distortion in his
voice, so, CRYING!
He's got like a lot of nasty distortion.
So, we're kind of using some of our false vocal folds, and some other things, we're
bringing in some of that kind of sound, but we also have to get through the passaggio
and through the lift, which is really hard to do, because you have to connect your chest
with your head voice.
I cover all of this in my singing course.
You can click here if you want, How To Sing Better Than Anyone Else, from Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy.
And, Xenia's actually been doing the Master's Class course, so she's flown to California,
she's flown to Hawaii here, in my studio here, to complete her course.
And what we've done, by the way, you can click on my singers forums too, if you're interested.
We have over 6,000 members, so we have a lot of good vocal information in there.
And we also are on Twitter, on Facebook, now on Periscope.
[G] Actually, we've done some cool stuff on Periscope, which has been really fun.
Right?
[Em] Secret still!
But anyway, and so, but no, [N] seriously though, I have a course that helps identify how to
get in and out of all these different kinds of vocal timbres and phrases.
So if you're interested, awesome!
We're going to, I have a bunch of tutorials of Xiomara in there, in fact several hours
now of that, of how we got to where we got in this song, to help you find your own [E] unique
voice for yourself.
So anyway, until next time, Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy!
