Hi there Steve Hackett here.
I'm gonna play you something from Landmines Down on Broadway as you can tell from the
The album cover.
I'm sure you recognize this one

[Em] [D]
[Em] [D]
[Em] [F#m]
Carpet Crawlers
[A]
[B] [G] [A] Companion Chorus
[G] [D] Very distant [C] guitar part
[Em] [D] Wild and I'm Superman
[Em] Right, a bit so I can talk over it
[D]
The thing about it is, I was
[Em] With the guitar part I was trying to sound like a [D] distant violin
[Em] There was an effect I'd heard on [D] a Yardbirds track
Years and years ago where [Em] I felt Jeff Beckham sounded very [F#m] much
Like a distant violin
Almost inaudible but [A] tantalizingly in the background
Of [G] course, [A]
that [G] album was [D] rehearsed and was intended to be recorded at [C] Headley Grange
Where [Em] Led Zeppelin had [D] physical [Bm] graffiti
[Em] A lot [D] of Pete's great [Bm] vocals which I have to fade [Em] down, I don't want to be able to talk over
[D] Of course it was Peter Gabriel's last [Em] album with Genesis
[D] But in a way it's a kind of tour de force for [Em] him
Landmines Down is, I know it's [F#m] his swan song with Genesis
But I feel in a way we were trying to [A] sort of honoring his commitment [G] to the band
Knowing at the same time that he was going to leave [A] after this
But we did lots of great gigs [G] after that with him
And so it's really [D] dedicated to him
