Hey there YouTube, how we doing today?
next lesson up on my channel is
Stormy Monday first solo, which is Dwayne's solo.
I got a request for this from I forget who it was
so sorry for that, but I
Had a request for some Dwayne Allman solo work.
So this is the one I chose and here it is for you
Let's get right to [E] it
Okay, let's get [Em] on with the lesson
[A]
[Fm] solo starts up [E] here in the
[Em] Eighth position [E] with a bend up on the second string with your ring finger
Tenth fret bend it up.
[D]
[Em]
[Ab]
Okay, that's all eight ten right here on the first two strings
[A] Then [A]
[G]
[Em]
[E] [Eb] the next lick is here [G] same spot
[D] [Em]
[G]
[D] [Em]
[G] And the next lick is [Dm] here [G]
at first note is second string 11th fret [D] 11 8
Excuse me 11 and then 10 on the third string
Then [G] [C] you come [Bb] down to the sixth fret stricken [G] second string
[Bb] [N]
[F] [G] [C]
[D] [N] Then you come all the way down to the third position
[B]
[N] Standard blues lick and G here [Abm]
bend up fifth third [Gm] string fifth fret
[Gb]
Pull off to the third fifth string fourth string fifth fret and then hammer [A] three to four
[B] [Ab]
then [Gm] chromatically up
[Bb] [G]
[Gb] Very standard blues [G] lick there and [B]
[Bb] [G] [G]
slide from two to nine on the third [Em] string
[G]
[Em]
[N]
Now
There's two ways to play these
These bends and I guess I didn't say this before but I'll say it now
This solo is really going to work your ability to control your bending
[Gb] Because that's what he's doing here throughout the whole thing
[N] Now one way to play this this next lick is the way I did it which is kind of cheating on us
[G] [Eb] [N]
Other way to play that would be
Which is much harder to do because you're bending up to this from the from the [Ab] a to the C
[E]
[Gm] [Em]
[A] [G] [G]
[N]
You work on that you'll get it eventually but it's just hard a way to play it next lick is here
So I'm starting here, this is the second string 11th fret I'm gonna bend it all the [C] way up
[N] and release back to pick it again back to the
[Eb] [C] [Bb]
[C] [Em]
[N] Okay, and then [E] you're come you're coming all the way up to [Eb] the 15th position now for the next
[B]
piece
[G]
[B] [F] Again a little slower
[G]
[N] [Eb]
[G] [D] And
[B] That lick right there is the end of the [Eb] first time around the chord progression
[E]
Okay, now here's the second part of this solo or the [Gm] second run through the course [Bb] starts here
[Em]
[Gb]
This is all essentially the same position.
[Em] There's a cup.
There's one note on the seventh fret here the high E string
[G]
[D]
[G]
[C] Okay
The second [Ab] passage goes [Bm] like this
[G] [D]
[E] [G]
[Em] [Am] [C]
[Em]
[E] [Bb] [G]
[E] [G]
[D]
[G] [A] [B]
[Gb] [Em]
[N]
Very last passage to get to the end of the solo goes like this
[E]
[A]
[G] [C]
[E]
[A] [D]
Okay that everything I'm doing up [N] here high is
15th fret is right there.
So it's you're on the the top two [Gm] strings one and two
[G]
[D] And
17 [G] [Dm] 17
[B] [D]
[E] Bend it up twice and then come back to 15 and you're [A] done
[Gm] [D] [G]
[D]
