Hi, with this video I would like to show you my 6 mallet grip.
It will show you how to hold and how to control the mallets.
I hope you'll enjoy it.
My 6 mallet grip is based on the Stevens grip.
You just put the extra mallet underneath the inside mallet.
Like this.

Underneath the inside mallet.

To move the inside mallet you can press with your index finger.
Like this.
And to pull it back again use the middle finger.
Like this.

Pull back with middle finger.
To move the outside mallet do like this.
The middle mallet can be moved by using the thumb and the index finger.
So what you do, you just put the extra mallet underneath the inside mallet.
Like this.
To move the inside mallet you can press with your index finger.
And to pull it back again use the middle finger.
To move the outside mallet do like this.
The middle mallet can be moved by using the thumb and the index finger.
It is important to hold the two mallets in one line.
To get the right feeling in your palm, simply press the mallets against the keyboard.
And you will feel how the mallets should sit.
The triple vertical stroke.
When you do the triple vertical stroke it is important to have a little curve on your wrist.
So you can use the power from rotating the underarm when you are doing the stroke.
Don't do like this because then you [C] will hurt yourself.
[Ab] The single independent inside stroke.
To do this stroke simply let the other two [Em] mallets hang loose.
[N]
Or if you like you can put the index finger on the other side of the mallet.
And then you have a lot of [C] power and freedom to play the inside mallet for a long time.

[Eb] The single independent middle stroke.
Place the thumb and index finger on the middle mallet and do like this.

To do this stroke let the inside mallets hang loose.

How to control the two inside mallets.
[D] You can do this by pressing with your thumb on the middle mallet.

[G] How to control the two outside mallets.
Do this by using your thumb and index finger.

The single and double alternating strokes.

The [Ab] one handed roll with the outside mallets.
All you have to do is to let the middle mallet hang loose.

[N] one handed roll with three mallets.
To do this [Dm] roll let the two inside mallets hang very loose.
