Thrice - Beyond The Pines (How To - Acoustic) Chords

_ _ Hi there, I have been spending the weekend jamming the new Thrice album, Palms, and one
of my favorite songs off that album, Musically, is the last song, Beyond the Pines, and I
was just messing around with it, listening to it while playing my acoustic guitar, and
I think I picked up the meat and potatoes of the song, and so I thought I would do a
how-to for maybe someone who's going to specifically play it on acoustic guitar. _
So, _ I have the song right now in capo 2 on my guitar, and I think the song itself is
in D, you can correct me about that, but, so basically what I want to do is give you
[E] the chord shapes for someone who's playing it acoustically _ from the capo 2 position.
I can put the actual keys in the description below, but I want to just kind of run through
the basics of the song and then play it through for you.
So one of the driving chords will be [Gb] the F chord _ _ that you would play, and for that intro
and whatnot, I'm [C] actually not going to do the picking part, I'll just, _ I have not figured
it out just yet, but I'm going to just take the [Ab] shapes, so you would alternate between
that, in that opening part, you would alternate between F, _ an A minor, _ and a [Gm] G chord, your
standard G chord.
[Ab] And then when it moves into that next part, [D] where it says far beyond
these walls, you would play _ an A minor, a C, _ and then you would play A minor again,
C, and then a G.
And the chorus is basically _ F, C, G, and then A minor, [G] so it would go, _ _ _ _

verse and then pre-chorus again, and then you go back into

basically _ the intro chords again, you would just hang on [G] with that F shape there, [F] and
then you would go [B]
to [E] A [A] minor and then G, [G] and then back.
