[C] Welcome back, y'all.
[D] You know, Tommy Alverson has that great ability to make music that pays tribute to his favorite
artists, but he does it with his own style.
One of his live show staples was a highlight track from the 2007 album, Country to the Bone.
It's called [Dm] Texas Woman.
A friend of mine, Charlie Throckmorton, and I wrote it together, and he just kind of threw
it out there.
And we [F] started playing around with it, and we [D] took it in the studio.
[G] What we had at that time, we were on cassette.
[D] That's how long ago it was.
So we had a cassette called From the [F] Heart of Hill County.
I was from Hill County.
[Em] And we had written 10 or 11 songs together, and we put them all on cassette.
Well then, the next cassette that we [Bm] did was called [G] Always in My Heart.
So then we ended up putting those two [D] cassettes together on a CD and calling it Texas Songs.
[Dm] So that's where they're at now.
They're on a [G] CD called Texas [Em] Songs.
It was just kind of one of those things that just [D] built over years.
Just kind of crescendoed up to a thing now, you know.
So people come to the shows now, and they holler out Texas Woman all night long, you know.
So it's a good thing.
It's kind of a trademark, one of our trademarks.

[A] [D]
I've always been through [Em] life's circle.
[G]
[A] Never finding that pot of [F#m] gold.
Living [D]
the rainbows [Em] that's just much too far.
Leaving [A] my hopes and dreams untold.
[D]
And it's the day that went [Em] and it rained.
[G]
Thinking [A] about a woman [D] within another distant town.
Out of my mind, all [Em] I want right now is Texas [G] way.
[A] Thinking more about [D] her and the reasons I should have stayed.
Texas woman, [Bm] I love only you.
[G]
[A] I'll never change [D] my ways.
Texas woman, [Bm] you know my love is true.
[G]
[A] I'll be back for [D] you someday.
Yes, I will.
[Em] [G]
[F#m] [D]
Texas woman's [Em] kind of special, don't you see?
[G]
Ain't [A] nobody love her like she can.
[D]
Playing that tune like [Em] I want her to be.
[G]
She [A] make me feel like a [D] hell of a man.
Texas woman, [Em] I love only you.
[G]
[A] Nothing ever [D] changed my way.
Texas woman, [Em] you know my love is true.
[G]
[A] I'll be back for [D] you.
I'll be back for you someday.
Texas [Em] woman, I love only you.

Thank you, Tom.
