[C] Welcome back, y'all.
[D] You know, Tommy Alverson has that great ability to make music that
pays tribute to his favorite artists, but he does it with his own style.
One of his
live show staples was a highlight track from the 2007 album, Country to the Bone.
It's
called [Dm] Texas Woman.
[D] A friend of mine, Charlie Throckmorton, and I wrote it together, and he just kind of threw
it out there and took it in the studio.
[G] What we had at that time, we were on cassette.
That's how long ago it was.
So we had a cassette called From the Heart of Hill [F] County.
I was
from Hill County.
[Em] And we [Dm] had written 10 or 11 songs together, and we put them all on
cassette.
Well, then the next cassette that [Em] we did was called [G] Always in My Heart.
So,
and then we ended up putting those two [D] cassettes together on a CD and calling it Texas Songs.
[Em] It was just kind of one [F] of those things that just built [D] over years.
Just kind of crescendoed
up to a thing now, you know.
So people come to the shows now, and they holler out Texas
Woman all night long, you know.
So it's a good thing.
It's kind of a trademark, one
of our trademarks.

[A] You're thinking more about [D] her and the reasons I should have stayed.
Texas woman, [Bm] I love only you.
[G] [A] I think I never changed [D] my way.
Texas woman, [Bm] you know my love is true.
[G] [A] I'll be back for you [D] someday.
