Vocal Coach Reaction to Billie Eilish Singing Bellyache Live Acoustic chords
Start Jamming...
[N] Yo, what's [Bm] good Tristan?
So today we've got Billie Eilish.
I think that's how you say her name [Eb] at this point.
Singing, bellyache, live, acoustic, and y'all have been really asking [C] and asking a ton for me to check her out.
I've heard [Db] maybe like 30 seconds of her at this point [D] just to see, just to get my feet [Bbm] wet,
you know what i'm saying?
But I haven't really listened and said anything full out.
But look, before we get started, I am a [D] vocal coach.
Check out my website, youcansinganything.com.
I teach singing [Db] lessons online every single day [Gb] through Skype.
Also down in that description,
let's see how fast I can do this, links to my cover channel, [G] Patreon, and vlog channel.
On my Patreon,
I have a [Bb] reward where I will review your singing in a video very similar to this [C] one.
I help you improve.
I have it in video [D] format and written format.
[B] Okay, here we go.
[Em] Billie [C] Eilish, bellyache, [Am] live.
[F] Let's do this.
[B] Damn, [Bb] can we talk about how white those shoes [G] are real quick [Bb] though?
Look at the soles of [G] them shoes.
[Bb] She's like,
has never [Gb] worn those.
[F]
[Bb] [Eb] [E]
Respectable.
Respectable.
I [G] can respect someone like that.
[B] [Gbm] [G]
[Eb] [A] [Bm]
[G] [E] [G] [C] Three, four,
[Am]
I like what I hear so [Em] far.
[C]
[Am] [Em]
Okay, really interesting voice.
Kind of like Lana Del Rey-esque.
[C]
[Am] [Em]
[C]
Really dark lyrics.
[A]
[Em] [E] [Em]
Really, really pretty.
Good pitch.
Really pretty [C] tone.
[Am] [Em]
[C]
[A] She's very [Em] mouthy sounding.
By that, I mean all of her air flow is coming out of her mouth.
[C]
[Am] Let me just point out [A] her transition here so that y'all can [G] appreciate this a little bit.
[C]
[Am] [Db] Here she's like,
[Am] [G]
[Gb] [Bb] It's coming [Am] out of her mouth a lot.
[Em]
[E] Mouth and then she's gonna [G] switch to her nose a little bit.
[C]
[D] [Gb]
[E] [C] [F] Perfect, no problems.
[A] Great technique.
[Em]
[C]
[Am] [Em]
[G] [C] [Am]
[D] [E]
[Em] Those high notes [D] have so much character to [Am]
[C] them.
[A]
[E] An amazing mix.
[Em]
[C] A really beautiful quality to her voice.
Ethereal, I [Am] think is a good word.
[Em]
[G] [Em]
[C] [Am]
[Em]
She's so quiet.
She sings [C] super quiet too.
Up until [Am] the high note at least.
[Em] And even then her high note is relatively quiet, but it still has energy and power to it.
Where's [C] my mind?
[Am]
[Em]
[C] [A]
[Em]
[C] [A]
[D] So another thing [Bm] that she's doing when she gets up into those high notes to give it more of like a
[Dm] a light quality to it is she's [Bb] changing her vowels to I.
[Db] Yeah, she's basically [Bm] changing all her vowels to I [Bb] and I can show you exactly what i'm talking about.
[Eb] And this kind of goes into [C] like people like to talk about the indie girl accent,
but it's completely necessary for the [B] type of sound that she's going [D] for.
She has to change her vowels towards I or like an U because those [E] vowels are lighter vowels.
If I [C] sing like,
uh, [B] what she's saying here?
[Em]
If I go,
[Gb] If I go,
Or what?
[C] It completely changes the sound.
Suddenly [Bb] like you're going into like belter
full out
[B] blown
whatever territory.
And what she's doing
[Em]
[G]
[Am] Instead of [E] going
She's going
Is
[D] You hear how [E] much lighter an I is?
It's really hard to make [Dm] your I very very full.
[Em] [A]
You can't really do it.
You kind of go for like it kind of just turns whiny.
It doesn't really get full and in your face [Bm] and powerful.
That's why she's modifying her notes that way and that's why she pronounces the [D] words the way that she does.
[A]
It's perfect for [Dm] the style that she's going for.
And it's the only way to [B] approach those sort of notes with the same sort of [G] timbre to her voice.
Because she can [Bb] have that angst to [D] it, but at the same time give it a floatiness.
A vowels are perfect for [E] that.
[D] [G] It's just an A.
[Am] [Em]
[C]
I
[Am]
[Em]
[G] [C]
[Am]
[Em] [E] [Gb] Loved this.
I love this.
This [Bb] was super super cool.
Y'all should totally drop some links [D] down in the description or the comments wherever the fuck you drop them [Dbm] comments down.
Just letting [Dm] me know what I should check [D] out from Billie Eilish.
Again, I think that's how you say your name.
Next because i'm super curious into her now.
Like [G] I don't know who this artist is.
It's [Db] my first time listening to a full song of hers.
And so [Eb] i'd love to hear more about her.
So just let me know down in the comments
