Yo, what's good everybody?
So today we've got Mason Ramsey, also known as the Walmart Yodeling Boy.
Okay, so he put out a new single lately.
Not only did he put out a single, but he actually signed a record deal.
Isn't that amazing?
I mean, we all saw it coming, but I didn't think it would happen this fast.
They're smart for pumping out the song this fast though.
But before we get into that and before we check out his song and I let you know what I think about it,
be sure to check out my website, youcansinganything.com.
I'm a vocal coach and I teach singing lessons online every single day through Skype.
Also, in the description is a link to my Patreon.
On my Patreon,
I have a reward where I will review your singing and a video actually rather similar to this one.
Also down in the description is a link to my cover channel [F] as well as my vlog channel.
So without further ado, the video we've all been waiting for.
Mason Ramsey, Famous.
That's the name of his new song.
Okay, let's go.
[Dm] [F] Okay, we got them country vibes coming in.
[F]
[Gm] There's my boy in [C] his traditional outfit.
[F] Don't get me wrong, it's pretty cool to be [Dm] on TV.
So [C] all the folks [F] back home [C] can see me.
Okay, this is cute so far.
And [F] that I'm living it out, all [Gm] the things I used to dream [C] about.
[F] Very country.
Yeah, it's pretty great, singing on stage.
[Dm] Proud cause there ain't an [F] empty seat in the place.
[Bb] And [Dm] there's a little bit of his [Cm] yodeling talent coming in right here.
[F] Yeah, it's pretty great, singing on [D] stage.
[F] Proud cause there ain't an empty seat in the place.
It's useful for something [Bb] in the real world.
But [F] girl, ever since I met you, I got [Gm] a whole new [C] perspective.
If [F] I'm gonna be famous for something, I wanna be famous for loving [Bb] you.
Okay, so this is super, super cute.
I appreciate his work ethic for all, like, I can't even imagine that as a kid.
Imagine going from TV show to TV show to TV show, performing at Coachella,
performing here, performing there, and then finding the time to record a single,
to get signed, all this stuff flying all over the country.
This kid honestly has some work ethic, and he's got some really, really strong support behind him,
which is really, really awesome.
I'm gonna be [F] known.
[Gm] [F] I wanna be [C] cause of [F] you, girl.
Nothing wrong with the center of [Dm] me [F] as I'm with you.
Find the pictures.
If I'm gonna be famous for something,
[Gm] [F] girl, I wanna [C] be famous [F] for loving you.
[N] It's a super, super catchy tune.
Like, whoever composed the melody to this song did a good job.
But all that being said, I do wanna talk about some of my concerns for the yodeling boy.
I'm concerned that he keeps doing music about him being in love with a girl,
or, like, having these relationships with girls along the lines of the Sweet Daddy thing.
It's hard to imagine who his audience is gonna be.
Do you see what my point is?
Cause he's got a lot of talent, and clearly he's got a lot of powerful record producers behind him,
and he's got good work ethic.
I am just a little bit concerned that if he keeps making these songs about being in love with a girl,
or someone keeps writing these songs for him to sing,
that he's gonna have a difficult time finding an audience.
Cause most likely, there aren't a lot of little 4-year-old girls
that are, like, looking for this kind of music, this kind of country music,
and likely there aren't too many adults that would find this sort of thing, um
I don't know, hopefully you know what I'm saying.
I'm not trying to hate on what he's doing all that much,
I'm just saying I hope that when he, as he moves forward,
him and his producers can find something else for him to sing about,
other than being a Sweet Daddy, or being famous for loving girls.
Because that's not him.
That's just not this kid, in my opinion.
I think he's got some other things that he can sing about,
and he could do really good with that.
I just don't want to see Mason Ramsey become the Justin [F] Bieber of country music.
I don't really know that that would work out for him.
But, anyway, let's take another quick listen here.
[Dm]
[C] [F] But [Gm]
[C] you know what?
Actually [N] thinking more about it,
really, it doesn't matter if these songs become, like, super commercially successful,
I don't think that's the point.
I think the point is for him to have experience singing this type of music,
and experience being in the studio, and experience being a studio musician,
and all these things that he's been dreaming about.
I think that's probably the most important thing for him,
and just the fact that he's living his dream right now.
So, again, I don't mean to be too critical about it.
