There were several wonderful, wonderful grave inscriptions in a place called Sapunca, which
you may have seen a program by Michael Palin where he explored these inner regions of Europe.
And it's covered with beautiful painted crosses, wooden crosses, and on the crosses are written
very short, entertaining sometimes, and sometimes very moving poems about the deceased who is
buried in the tomb.
And the poems are written in the first person, so it's as if that person is waiting to speak
to you if ever you visit the graveyard and tell them the essence of their life.
And this song for Rita is the essence of this lady's life.
According to the inscription is that she had five children, but she died just after her
youngest had been born, and she died with the baby in her arms.
She said, the last line of the poem is, in my arms I held her.
So.
And I meant to sing after that.
It always makes me cry.
