Here's the man himself with the story and the performance of Saturday night off his album a given
_ Saturday night was [E] a good way to point out the way that I like to write songs
You know I like to be a little depressing and [B] a little [F#] dark
You know I'd like to be different as [E] much as I can and
_ this is I think I stand on stage a lot of Saturday [A] nights throughout the years and

So you would [B] think I'd probably write about those people when I said I choose to write about that guy in the dark corner
the bar who's not having a good time and
create a story around him and _
And it just happens to be he's heartbroken and missing a girl
and and I thought that's just obviously good country music material and
_ And then I put an up-tempo twist to it to kind of feel how that Saturday night feel to one of the better tracks
I think we've ever cut the studio just because of the energy it has the simplicity behind it
I love simple songs at times
And I think people the fans and the crowds really love simple songs at times just to kind of feel good
