[N] [G] Sometimes it's hard [C] for me to [B] understand
[Am] Why we pull away [D] from each other [G] so easily
Even though [Em] we're all walking the [Bm] very same road
[Em] But we build [Bm] dividing walls [Am] between our [C] brothers and [D] ourselves
But [G] tonight I [Bm] don't care [C] what label [G] you choose to [Am] wear
If you believe in Jesus, [G] you belong with me
[Gbm] The bond we [Em] share, that's all [Bm] I care to see
[Em] We can [G] change this world [Bm] forever if [Am] you will join with [C] me
Join and [G] sing!
[D] Take me, oh [G] my brother, you're my sister
[D] So take me by the [B]
hand
[Em] Together we [C] will work until [G] he comes
[D] There's [G] no foe that can defeat us
[D] When we're walking side by [B] side
[C] As long as there is love, we [G] will stand
I [Ab] believe the day [Cm] has finally [Db] come
When we all [Ab] shall be one
[Bbm] And with one mighty voice together
[Ab]
We will proclaim that Jesus,
[Fm] Jesus [Cm] Christ is King
And [Fm] it's gonna echo, echo [Cm] through this whole earth
It's [Bbm] gonna shake every nation
[Db] And all the world is gonna see
The whole world [E] is gonna [D] see
That you're [A] my brother
[E] Take me by the [Db] hand
[Gbm] Together we [D] will work until [E] he comes
There's [A] no foe that can defeat us
[E] When we're walking side by [Db] side
[D] As long as there is love, we [Bm] will stand
[A]
You're my brother, you're my sister
[E] So take me by [C] the hand
[G]
[Gbm] Together we will work [D]
until [A] he comes
There's no foe that can defeat us
[E] When we're walking side by side
As [D] long as there is love, we [G] will [D] stand
You're [A] my brother, you're my sister
So [E] take me by the hand
[Db]
[Gbm] Together we [D] will work until [A] he comes
[E]
There's [A] no foe that can defeat us
[Abm] When we're walking side by [Db] side
[D] As long as there is love, we will [A] stand
As [Bm] long as there is love, we will [A] stand

[A]
I [E]
[Db] grew [G] up in the hills of West Virginia.
So I grew up around Southern Gospel,
not [E] just Black Gospel, just Southern Gospel
[G] and country music [A] and cowboy boots, [B] okay?
[Bb] And I preached in little [Ab] churches
where I was the only African American in the building
and way back up in the 6th,
and everybody had on blue jeans and T [A]-shirts
and you were worldly if you had on a tie, okay?
But when they would start playing the guitars
or singing their music or just [E] patting their foot,
I started, you know what?
This is not that different.
[Ab] You know, it's really not that different.
In a [C] few minutes, you know, after a while,
you pat your foot and you say, [E] yeah, you know what?
I can do this.
[Eb] So there's an [Bm]
education element
where [A] you learn we're really [E] not that different.
[F] We're really not.
And if you listen at [E] the music [Bb] that [Bm] we perform together,
all of a sudden [E] the lines blur
and you hear a [A] little bit of spiritual
or [Gb] Black Gospel or [A] country or [Ebm] whatever,
all mixed [A] up in there together,
and we learn [Eb] from each other.
And I [Db] think that's what God is trying to get us [Ebm] to do.
Bill, I think that's what he
[G] I'm going to start preaching in a minute.
But [Ab] I think that what God is trying [A] to get us to do
is what nature does, and it's to cross-pollinate,
to borrow [G] the nectar from all the flowers
so that all of us become more [A] fruitful.
I think that we're starting to catch on
that we [C] need each other, that it's not [Ab] you're right
and I'm wrong and this is the right [G] style of music
and that's the wrong style of [Db] music,
that we just borrow a little nectar,
the very best of all of it, and mix it [A] together
and share it with the world.
You're my brother, you're my sister
[E]
[Db] [Gbm] Together we [D] will be [E]

There's [A] no foe that can defeat us
[Abm] When we're walking side by [Db] side
