and then place your second finger [N] down here on the second
fret of the fourth string _ [Em] and _ do those two notes.

E note, which that's what that [Em] is.

_ _ That's the start, the [N] pickup
note _ for Wildwood Flower. _
At least that's the way I do it.

And then you want to
come [N] up one more fret to the third fret.
_ _ Place your third finger right there _ [Bb] _ and
in [E] order now.

_ [F] _ _ [Em] Okay, _ _ [F] _
_ [Em] just do it like that.

_ [G] And then _ _ go _ _ _ to the [Cm] G note, [N] the G string,
third string, open.
And I [Ab] sometimes use my [G] thumb pick _ for that note.
_ So again we
have [Em] _ _
[F] [G] now _ [C] _ _ _ _
part of the [N] C chord.
_ _ Since this song is played in the key of C, I put my
first finger on the second _ string on the first fret.
And that note happens to
be C.
_ So in this order, once again, G open [G] _
_ and [E] then second fret, second finger, and
[F] then third fret, third finger, [G] and then G open _ again.
And then immediately put your
[C] index finger down _ [F]
on the second string, [N] first fret.
So we got.
[Em] _ [F] _ [C] _ _ _
And then what I do
is I strum [F] that portion of the C chord [Bb] with my [C] index finger on this hand.
So [Em] we
have.
