You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet Lesson Part 1 chords
Start Jamming...
You ain't seen nothing yet by BTO.
Here's a quick run-through of the chords
[G]
[A] [G] [D]
[F]
[A] [E] [F#m]
[Bm] [E]
[A] [D]
Okay, that was a quick run-through of the chords now we're gonna go through them in more detail
These chords are kind of [Dm] complicated
So we're gonna take it nice and slow here and let you learn them all it starts off actually [A] on an A
But it looks nothing like in [N] normally it's on the this is sort of like a C chord pattern if you're familiar with the other way
a C chord looks
Except you're playing it with these fingers
And you're using this as kind of your fret you're borrowing with this
so this is gonna be a little difficult for beginners, but
You can actually do it like [A] this
And leave out that note if that helps you at all
[Bm] Okay, so the notes are right here on the 12th fret you're starting with the pinky on the fifth string
[A] [C#]
[G#] Ring finger one string down one fret down
[F#] And
[A] Second finger on the second string of the tenth fret and then you're borrowing all the other strings with your
first finger and you can't let [E] the
Sixth string ring out at all because it's gonna ruin the sound so that's the [A] first chord
Now the good news here [Bm] is that you just do the same [G] chord two frets down
so [A] it's and
Then down here.
We're just doing a D chord now
I do my D chords like this with my with my ring finger some of you may do your D chords like like that
[B] Either way, it's okay
[D] [A]
[G] [D]
Now I guess some of you should know maybe you don't know how to do a D chord so it's we're on the fifth fret here
and
You're just gonna bar again the fifth fret with this finger, and you're gonna play these
These three notes here [A] on the seventh fret on the fourth third and second string
[D]
I can't do it like that.
I'm sorry.
I have to do it like this and bend my
Ring finger like that [A] now you try to do it so that you can get that
High note to read that high a to ring that's coming from here
[D]
[G]
All right,
[G] and that's the same chord all the way up so however you do that chord
Start on the on the fifth fret.
I'm gonna use this finger here as my reference point so start on the fifth [D] fret
And then go to the [A#] eighth fret
[F]
[F#m] 10th [G] fret
[D]
[F] And then we're doing the the main chord again, which is the [A] a
[B] Now this time this one's a little more complicated again
We're going to peel off all our fingers and put that finger right [G#] there
on the fifth string 11th fret so the chords are
[A] [E]
And
You have to let all the all the strings of this finger ring out as you're barring them and
Then we're doing a
Something minor.
I think that's an F sharp minor.
I'm not sure and
That looks like an a minor
[F#] But [Bm] using these fingers and this finger as the bar
So once again you're borrowing all this on the ninth fret you're gonna put your second finger there
Your pinky here and your ring finger there
So I'll do the notes
I'll pick the notes down [E] like that so you can hear them one at a time
[F#m]
And we don't play the top string either so that chord pattern slowly again is
[A] [E]
[F#] And then we're going to play this down here
[Bm]
Which is the same chord that we did up here when we just use these two fingers this one and this one and this one
we're just doing it down here and
And then we're gonna do [C] this one more weird chord, I'm sorry these are really strange chords once again
You're borrowing all the strings right here on the seventh fret
You're gonna put your ring finger [E] here on the ninth fret third string
And you're gonna put your pinky up here on the tenth fret of the high E string
And you let those ring again the top five strings
[Bm] So those two chords are
You
[E]
[B]
There's probably ways to cheat around doing those chords
But the song sounds so much better if you can pull it off and learn those chords
And it's always good to learn new chords.
I I had a good time learning those chords actually
So I'll go through the main chord pattern again really slowly
well slowly [A] and
[G]
[D] [A]
[Em] [D]
Then we're gonna switch to the other part
[F] [G]
[A] [E]
[F#m] [Bm]
[E]
[A] Alright now I'll go I'll go through it one time at full speed
[G] [D] [A]
[Em] [D]
[F] [G] [A] [E]
[F#m] [Bm]
[E]
Okay, that was a little sloppy sorry, but that's the idea
