This is Anthony Bryce with Piano Clubhouse,
and today I'm gonna show you how to play
Won't He Do It by Katherine Harthorn,
featuring Rashawn Feagin.
[E] All right, so it's in the key of F, which is one flat.
Let me give you that scale, okay?
Here it goes.
[F]
[G] [Bb] [C] [D]
[F]
[E] [C] [Bb] [A]
[G] [F] [E] All right, so what I like to do
is actually play the song first in sections.
Sometimes it depends on the song itself,
but I'm gonna play the song and break it down to you, [Em] okay?
Let's get started.
[Bb]
[C] [Ab] [Bb]
[Am] [F] [Bb]
[Am] [G]
[F] [Bb]
[Am] [Bb]
[Am] [F] [Bb]
[Am] [G]
[F] All right, so that was [E] actually the first verse, all right?
So what I played right there [Bb] would be
B flat in the left hand, [F] right hand, [Bb] F, B flat, D, F.
[C] Next [Am] chord, and that's A and E in the left hand in the bass.
Right hand is [C] G, C, E, G.
And basically [Bb] the pattern, you're going back and forth.
[Bb]
[Am] [G] And then in between that, you heard [F] me playing.
[Ab] That is just three notes [B] playing in octaves,
[F] and that's F, [Am] A, [Cm] C.
All [Bb] right, so that's,
[Am] [Bb] [Am]
[F] [Bb] [C]
then it goes [Gm] to G and D in the left hand.
Right hand is F, B flat, D, F.
All right, [Cm] and it goes to [F] the next chord,
F and C in the left hand, right hand, F, A, C, F.
[Cm] Sound very simple, pretty cool.
You can get this.
All right, so next will [Db] be how the chorus [G] goes.
And the chorus is the same, [Bb] and that is, [C]
[Bb] [Am]
[F] [Bb] [C]
don't forget that.
[B] [Bb]
[C] [F] [Bb] [C]
[B] [Bb] [C]
[F] [Bb] [C]
[Gm] [F]
[A] [F] All right, so what I just played,
you already went, [G] we already know [Bb] this chord.
That's the first chord I played.
And we [Am] also know the second chord.
That is the second chord I played.
That's with the A and E in the left hand, right hand,
G, C, E, G.
[G] Now the next chord, because we can go back and forth,
you know about this part, the F, [C] A, C, right?
Now let's go to [Gm] this.
[C] [F]
[A] [Gm] So that's fourth chord I played.
Now this right here, actually the third chord, I'm sorry.
So that'd be G, D in the left hand, right hand,
F, B flat, D, F.
[G] So that's G, D in the left [Gm] hand, right hand, F, B flat, D, F.
Now, if you wanna keep it simpler,
[G] just have G in the left hand.
[Gm]
All right, G in the left hand, right hand, F, B flat, D, F.
So [C] then to, and that's C in the left hand now,
right hand, G, C, E, G.
[D] Next chord [F] to F in the left hand, right hand, F, A, C, F.
And now I'm gonna just hit that one note in F,
but then go to the bass note [G] and do,
[A] to [Bb] go back into, [Am]
and [G] that is G, [A] A, [Bb] [Am] C, F.
Got it?
All [Bm] right, so now that you have that,
let's get to the point to the next situation.
It's [Cm] basically the same,
but different at the end of the verse, the second verse.
So the second verse goes like this.
[Bb]
[Am] [Bb]
[C] [F] [Bb]
[C] [Bb]
[C] [Bb]
[Am] [Bb]
[C] So [F] repeat that a little bit.
[Bb]
[Am] All right, here it goes.
[Db] [G]
[C]
All right, [A] so what I just [Bb] played at the end,
because you already know these chords, [Am]
[Gm] it's this.
G in the left hand, right hand, F, B flat, D, F,
but it's a walk up from that [G] G to [A] A.
[Bb] Play the same chord in the right hand,
which would be F, B flat, D, F.
Now with the bass having, you know, being on B flat.
And then you're gonna keep the same chord in the right hand
when [D] you hit this note in the bass, [C] C.
So it's now C in the left hand, right hand, F, B flat, D, F.
[D] Okay?
All right, so actually this is the entire song.
[Bb] And it goes.
[C] [G]
[C]
[B] [Bb] Verse, [Am]
[G] [F] [G] chorus.
Now first verse [Bb] goes.
[C] [Gm]
[F] [Gb] Different variations of the ending, right?
That is the entire song of one.
Won't He Do It by Catherine [D] Hawthorne.
All right, thank you for tuning in.
This is Anthony Bryce with Piano Clubhouse.
Have a great one.
[Cm] [Eb] [Ab] [Bb]
