[G] I just got an email to do a tutorial for [Ab] the Beatles Revolution so I thought why the hell
not.
I just happened to be in front of the computer at this particular moment.
So here we go
for an acoustic version.
This is the way I do it.
It's pretty much just 12 bar blues.
So the way I [G] do it, it starts [A] sort of on an A but [B] you're not going to be playing, [Ab] it's pretty
much just concentrating on [A] bass notes.
So just [G] a bar across the top four strings like that with
your second finger and you're going to be hammering on with your pinky onto the fourth string on the
fourth [A] fret like that pretty much.
So you're going to be playing from the fifth string.
Pretty much just playing those middle strings but if you want to start getting pretty
[G] groovy you can [A] actually hammer that and get this.
[E]
[A] You say revolution where you know.
Then go to [D] a D.
Again not [E] strumming down [G] as far as the E.
Just start from [D] the fourth
and then just pretty much just strum the fourth, third and second and you're going to be again
pinking onto the third string on the fourth fret this time.
[A] [D]
[G] Move your fingers around however you
find it easier.
I kind of get [E] used to using my pinky [D] there.
So
[A]
[D] then when you come down to [E] the E
just bar across the whole second fret except for the E.
All right and then just
pinky onto the fourth [Ab] fret on the [E] fifth string.
Just sort of strum down as far as the third
fourth string.
That makes sense.
Is [Gb] it [A] clear?
[D] [E]
Okay so that's the main riff.
Okay [G] and then for [D] the bridge
[Bm] when you talk about destruction just [E] play a B [Bm] minor.
When you [E] talk about destruction.
Do an E [A] back to the [Bm] B minor.
Don't you know that you can [G] and then
power chord G [A] and then A [Gb] and then F sharp.
[E] [G] [A] A [Gb] F sharp [E]
and then E7.
[Bm] When you talk [E] about destruction
[Bm] oh don't you know [G] that you [A] can [Gb] carry out [E]
don't you know it's gonna [A] be back into that [D] riff
you know it's gonna [A] be [D]
all right you know it's gonna [A] be [D] all right [E] all right and then this little
sorry [A] [E]
what you need there is just going between E7 and E.
[G] You're going to hit the [E] open E
then open the A string and hammer onto the [B] second then [Bm] the open D [D] string.
[E]
Hit the E again
[B] hammer back onto the A string [E] and then this time fret that D string on the second.
Do that twice.
[A] [E] If you're playing this on electric you'd probably do it up here.
[A] [D]
You don't get the same ring [B] of
those um bass notes [G] and plus it hurts your fingers a lot more to fairly long song if [E] you're gonna
whole thing so your [G] hand's usually killing you by the end of this [A] one so I [D] do it down
because then you get that that A just rings out through the whole D [A] rings out too
[D] [E]
[A] [Ab] and they're
the only bits you really need to make up the whole song just a little riff [G] um [Bm] bridge
[A] [Gb] [Eb]
[E] [Bm] so [Em] I think that's enough for [G] you to put it together isn't it um it is a tricky [Ab] one takes
a while to get the [Em] hang of all of those [A] little um hammerings and hammer-ons and stuff
[D] [A] [G] but anyway
