Hello, this is C-Dub with PianoClubHouse.com
and today we're gonna do something a little different.
I'm gonna be showing you some classic churchy,
traditional chord progressions and licks,
stuff that you hear, you know,
like in your very traditional churches,
that just kind of move the people.
So it's stuff you hear all the time,
so, but you may not know how to play it,
so I'm gonna show you.
It's gonna be an E flat, this one, all right?
So, so this one's gonna go a little something like this.
You've heard before.
[Ab] [Eb]
[Ab]
[Eb] [Ab]
[Ab]
[Eb] [Db]
[Ab] [Bb]
[Db] [Eb] All right, so how many times have you heard that
in church, all right?
So, what are we doing?
[Ab] [Bbm] All right, there's [Eb] really a lot of ways you can play that.
You know, you can do just,
all right, you can go,
or,
[Ab] [Bbm] [Eb] all right, so I'm just gonna show all of them to you.
All right, so the first one, E flat.
I got E flat in both hands,
so I got E flat low, up high, [Bb] all right?
All right, so you can do B flat, B flat, [C] C, C,
[Db] E flat, [C] D flat, C, all [Eb] right?
All right, right hand, [Ab] G,
[Bb] A flat, B [Ab] flat, A [G] flat, G, [Eb] so.
All right, another way,
[Ab]
[Eb]
[Eb]
still doing the same thing in your left hand.
Now you have a full chord here in your right, so,
you have E flat, G, B flat, and E flat.
Then you're gonna just move [Ab] these two fingers here,
A flat, C, sorry, A flat and C,
and then B [Bbm] flat, D flat, all right?
And then come back down.
[Bb]
[Eb] [Ab]
[Eb] All right, another way you can,
or something that you can add to that comma
to kind of give it a different feel
when you go up.
All [Eb] right, instead of just doing that,
let's move this E flat here up [Fm] to [Bbm] F.
[Ab] [Eb] [Ab]
[Eb]
[Gb]
[Eb] Okay, that's another lick right there
that you hear a lot in church.
[Gm] [Cm] So I'm [F] going from F, [Gb]
G [G] flat,
[Bb] G, [C] B flat, C,
[Eb] E flat, all right?
[Ab] [Bb]
[Eb] [Gb] [Eb] All
[Ab] [Eb]
right, and then the other thing I did,
instead of going straight back to the same,
[Eb]
[Ab]
[Gm]
[Ab] okay, so I went up,
[C] and then after that [Db] C,
or I had D flat, F, and A flat in my left hand,
D flat, F, and A flat in [Ab] my right.
I think I [Eb] even added the E flat [Db] here.
You can do that.
[Ab]
All right, A flat, E [Gb] flat, and G flat in my left hand,
C, E flat, A flat in my right.
[Gm] [Db]
[C]
[Gm] [Db]
And then you're back into the pattern again.
[Eb]
[Bb] [Eb]
[Gm] [Db] [Ab]
[Eb] Back again.
So those are some things you can do.
Like I said, you [N] hear that a lot in church,
especially in the traditional churches.
So I hope that helped you out.
