[F] Hi [F#m] and welcome to my easy [A] chord guitar lesson [C] for Under [G] the Milky Way by The Church [F#m] on acoustic guitar.
[A]
The guitar is tuned standard E-A-D-G-B-E
[G] [E]
And we're going to try to [A] play something that sounds [B] a lot like the record but we're going to use super easy chords in order to get it played.
[A] We're going to start with an A minor [Am] chord.
But first, let's work on the strumming pattern [A#] because that's a major component [F] in the song.
The strumming pattern [F#m] goes like this.
[Am]
And that's down, down, down, up, down, up, up, down, down, up, down, down, down, down, up, up, down, down, up, down.
And it'll sound like this as we change chords.
[G]
[Am]
[D]
Now let's take a [A] close look at [G] those chords.
[C] Our first [G#] chord is A [A] minor.
Just a traditional A minor chord.
[Am]
With two fingers [G#] on the D and G string [C] at the second fret and a finger on the B string first [G#] fret.
[Am] Strummed all the strings if you like.
Our next chord is an A suspended 4.
We'll remove finger [B] 1 and place the little finger on the B string [A] fret 3.
That's A suspended 4.
Then we'll do [B] F major 7.
[A] A regular F form which is the [C#] third fret, [F] D string, second fret, G string, [B] first fret, B string [F] and we can strum from the A.
Like [Am] that.
Now we've got our high E string open.
That's F major 7.
Our last chord [A#] is a G6 [A] way up here at [A#] fret 7.
[G]
And we can strum [Am] all the strings on that.
So [B] we're going to go to [F#m] a D form [Am] which we would usually play down [D] here and raise it all the way [A] up.
[G] And [Am] that's going to sound like this.
[G]
[Am]
[G] [Am]
[D] [Am]
[G]
[Am]
Now [G]
[Am] we [A] can play that through all the verses.
So next [E] we have a pre-chorus and that pre-chorus is going to [Am] sound like this.
[Em] [G]
[F]
[G]
[F]
[Am]
[G#] For our pre-chorus we'll play [G] a G chord to a F major 7 [Am] and
[G]
[Am]
then we'll go back to [F#m] our verses.
[Em] [F#m] We also [G] have a bridge in this [F] song which will sound like [C] this.
[G]
[Am]
[C] [G]
[Am]
[C] For our bridge we'll go to [E] a C major chord.
[C]
[G]
[Am]
[C]
[G]
[Am]
We'll play that progression four times and then we'll go back into the main part [G#] of the song.
And after that [F] everything is repeated.
[A#]
So that's it for Under the Milky Way [E]
by The Church on Acoustic [F#m] Guitar.
Thanks for stopping by and have [E] a great day.

[Em] [F#m] We also [G] have a bridge in this [F] song which will sound like [C] this.

[C] For our bridge we'll go to [E] a C major chord.
