[F] The Ukulele Way is a project I've been working on for three years, kind of my top secret project.
And the idea was to do something for individual learners, self-teaching [F] situations.
[F#] [G]
[F] Music in print, you'd have audio recorded on CD, but then beyond that you'd have [G] video streaming from a website, you know, for each lesson.
Plus a social network integrated into the website that would [F#] connect people [F] so they could find each other based on interest,
you know, what style of music you play, based on level, how long you've been playing, [G] based on maybe what lesson they're working on.
You know, hey, I'm having trouble with lesson three, can somebody help me out?
All of those media, if we could bring the best of those media to bear on one ukulele learning system, you know, wouldn't that be great?
And that's [F] what this is.
[F#]
[G] [Am] It's the art and [F] science of playing melody, harmony, and rhythm simultaneously.
[Cm] Here's a melody, [G]
[Cm] [F] here's some chords.

Now if I had four arms and two ukuleles, I wouldn't have any trouble, I'd be able to do that easily.
But, you know, being as I am, I have to combine [F] them.
[G]
[C] [G] If I do that convincingly, if I do that smoothly, if I get everything [F] right, if I get my voicings in order,
if I get my partial rolls in order where sometimes I'm playing four strings, sometimes I'm playing three strings,
and if I transition smoothly between single notes and chords, [G] you get the impression that I am doing two things at once,
that I'm really juggling melody and [Fm] harmony.
There are many little [G] techniques and concepts that go [F#] into making that.
