Hello, my name is Romel Alarcon and today I'm going to be showing you how to play the
Weary Kind, written by Ryan Bingham from the movie Crazy Heart.
[B]
[N] I'll first be showing you the different chords that are used in the song.
First is the D chord, [D] then the A chord, [A]
then the B [Bm] minor, and [G] then a G.
And that's it!
Those are the different chords that you'll be using in the song, just in
a different order.
Now I'll be showing you the fingerpicking pattern for the song.
First we'll start off with the D chord.
[D] First I'm going to pluck the fourth open string, the D string, with my thumb.
Then the [A] third string, then the first [D] string, the second string, the third string again,
then the first string again.
Four, three, one, two, three, one.
This pattern is repeated twice for each chord.
Now the A [A] chord.
The same pattern is used.
The B minor chord.
Again, the same [B] pattern.
Four, three, [Bm] one, two, three, one.
Now the G chord.
Here's where there's a difference.
Instead of plucking the fourth string, we're going to pluck the sixth string [G] first.
But then we're going to continue using the same last three strings.
Six, three, one, two, three, one.
[D] This pattern is then repeated for every chord in the song.
D, [E] A, [A] [E] B minor, [Bm]
[G] G.
[Gm] And that's it.
That's the fingerpicking pattern for the song, The
