[C]
[Dm]
Any moment now, [Gm] he'll notice me, [Eb] me [Ab] and my [Dbm] [Gb] butterfly [F] heart.
[A] Any Moment Now [Dm] was the first [C] song that I [Dm] chose for this [A] album.
Being an actress, I like to sing songs that give [Bb] me something to act.
So [Gm] this song was about a couple that was not [Am] communicating.
[Bb] It was [Gm] written for a [D] play called Smile.
Marvin Hamlisch wrote the music and he [Em] was my dear friend.
[A] And I heard the song and I thought,
this is a way for me to use actors [G] who act and sing with Broadway [D] material.
So the first person I [Gbm] thought of was Hugh Jackman.
[Bbm] Any moment now, [Ebm] he'll notice me.
He could be a werewolf [A] or whatever he is, [B] Wolverine,
[A] and yet he's a wonderful [Ab] actor who sings great.
When I got the email [Gbm] about it, [Gb] I literally [Bbm] stared at my phone.
My wife, who is the biggest [A] Barbra Streisand fan,
she thought something was wrong.
I was reading the email and she said, [Db] read this.
And she read it and she screamed.
I was [Cm] like, I don't know how on [Gb] earth this has happened.
And she goes, [Dm] but you're doing it.
I said, of course I'm doing it.
To [Eb] Atlantic City, [A] if not [Bb] Atlantic City.
Singing is really [C] about communicating.
And [Bb] when I listen [C] to Hugh's [Bb] voice,
I hear a truth in his performance [Eb] that I find very [Cm] touching.
When [Dm] I began singing, I was [Gm] a little, [Bb] you know,
I've got the notes, can I sing this, how am [E] I doing?
And then gradually, hearing her, you went, [F] I just don't forget that.
Because this voice I'm hearing, this is not someone worried about the notes
or [Eb] how long I hold this or [Gb] intonation.
She's worried [C] about being [F] truthful.
And [A] that's inspiring.
[Dm] How can I begin [B] forgetting where [Dm] we've been
to
[Bb] laugh [Gm] to [A] [Dm] win again?
[Am] [Em] [A] It's [Bb] always any [Gm] moment now.
