[N] Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here at GuitarJams.com.
I'm going to teach you a nice, pretty easy beginner version.
Basically got one bar of chord and I'm going to break it down for you right now.
I've always got a bunch of extra stuff that you can check out.
Click the link below.
But let's get to the lesson.
Alright not too many chords.
The original recording, the guitar is tuned a half step down.
But I'm just in standard tuning.
If you want to match up to the original recording, after you learn this, you can just tune each
note down a half step to match up with the original.
[G] Okay, we're going to play this kind of G here.
It's got the double.
But you know, any kind of G you can do.
I'm just kind of going down, up, down, up, down.
And then I do an up, down, up before the next chord.
[Bm]
And you know, it's optional.
I kind of [G] screwed that up a little bit.
[Bm]
[C]
[D]
[G]
[Bm]
[A] [C]
[D] [N] So that's the A section or the first section.
We've got [G] a G chord, then a B minor chord, which is usually the first bar chord I teach a student.
You bar that second fret, middle finger, ring, pinky.
This looks like an A minor shape.
Up a whole step, barred down, becomes B minor.
A minor, B minor.
[Bm]
[G] So we've got G, that [Bm] B minor bar chord.
Then you've got C.
[C] One, two, do, do, do.
C again, [D] D.
[G] So if I were to just count, it would be one, two, three, [Bm] four.
One, two, three, four.
[C] One, two, three, four.
One, two, [D] three, four.
On that D chord.
So that's [Bb] the verse.
Then we have the pre-chorus, which is C for two, D for two.
[C] [D]
[C] You can pick it, one, [D] two, three, [Gb] four.
[B] I'm just [C] strumming it.
So
[D] [G]
you've got C for two, D for two, G for four.
[C] But then [D]
[G]
the next [C] time, starts the same
[D] way.
[G] [D]
[C]
So watch.
C, two, [D] D, [G] two, G, two, three, [E] four.
[C] C, two, [D] D, two, [G] G for one [D] strum, D for one strum, [C] C, let it ring out, into the chorus.
[A] And the chorus [Bb] is pretty easy.
[G]
[D] [C]
[G] So it's like, G, G, G, [D] G, G, G, [C] D, C.
[Em] [G] G, G, G, [D] G, G, G, [C] D, C.
[G] G, G, G, [D] G, G, G, D, [C] C.
[G] [D] [C]
So now let me play [E] that whole thing all the way through.
So here's the verse.
[G] G, G, G, G.
[Bm] B minor, nah, nah, nah.
[C] C, C, C, C, C, [D] C, C, D.
We'll do it again.
[G] G, G, G, G, G, [Bm] B minor, yeah.
[E] [C] C, C, C, C, C, [D] E.
Next part.
[C] [D] C, D, [G] G, same thing.
[C] C, [G] [D] D, but now it's different.
[G] G, [D] D, [C] C.
[G] Chorus.
[D] [C]
[G]
[D] [C]
[G]
[D] [C]
[G] [N] All right, that was it.
