[F] [G] Hi, my name is Annie Rains and [D] welcome to Blues [G] Harmonica Blueprint.

[C] [G] [C] [G] [C] [G]
[C] We're here to approach blues and roots harmonica mastery [G] from the ground up,
building on a solid foundation of rhythm and tone.
[Dm] [G] [C] [F]
[G] [D]
[C] The blueprint begins with orientation to the basic tools of the trade, your harmonica [G] and you.
Then we'll collect our building materials, chords, single notes, [F] familiar melodies, [C] rhythms, riffs, and improvisational [Bb] ideas.
[G] We'll cover the basic techniques of chord comping, straight and cross harp, and bending [E] notes,
[G]
as well as more [C] intermediate [Gm] techniques like [G] hand effects, tremolo, and tongue blocking.
[C] [G] Finally, we'll learn how to construct functional solos in 12-bar [Cm] blues [G] in the styles of some of my heroes,
Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Jimmy [C] Reed.
[G] After almost 25 years of playing and teaching, I'm still learning all kinds of things from listening to their approaches
[C] and [Gm] their principles of musical design, balance, harmony, [G] and economy of motion.
[C]
[G] I'll be joined [D] at times by my partner, Paul [C] Rochelle, who is a fantastic guitar [G] player,
as well as a [C] master of [G] country blues, and the author of True [D] Fire's country blues [G] course, Dirt Road Blues.
[Dm] [Em] [C] This video course includes animated [Gm] graphics and printed tabs to help you [G] navigate the instrument,
and full-length jam tracks to get you [C] playing in the [D] groove.
All you need is [C] a C harp and [G] a desire to learn.
