_ [G#] _ _ This is the guitar lesson for Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower, the easy way and
the [C] correct way.
All right, guys, make sure your guitar's in [E] standard E tuning. _
_ All right, and then take your capo and put it on [A] the fourth [G] fret like so, just like [N] that,
all right?
_ _ And this is a very easy song.
It follows the same chord progression over and over and over again, okay?
The chords you've got to know are A [C#m] minor, _ _ _ [G#m] all right, [C] the G major power [B] chord, _ _ _ all right?
Slide that down, now the F major [A] power chord, _ _ _ _ okay?
[A#m] So [C#m] _
_ _ [B] _ [A] it's_
_ [G#m] _ _
[C#m] _ _ [B] _ _ [A] _ _ _ [B] _
[C#m] _ _ [B] _ _ [A] _ _ _ [G#m] _
_ [C#m] _ Okay?
[G#m] [N] The strumming pattern I'm doing is just basically a down-up strumming pattern, okay?
[C#m] Down-up, down-up, down-up.
So _ _ [N] let's see, I'm going to count it out for you, but first I'm going to play through it
slow so you can see it, okay?
Okay, so _ the chord progression [C#m] goes A [G#m] minor, [B] _
_ _ _ G major [G#] bar chord, [A] _
_ _ F major bar chord, [G#] and
then I do a couple of [F#] strums [G#m] with no fingers on the string. _
So we'll make that our fourth chord, you got it now.
_ Easiest chord of the day, okay?
_ [B] All right, so now the strumming pattern is like [C#m] this.
_ _ [B] _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ _ [G#m] _ _ [C#m] _ _
_ So down, [B] down-up, then I go to G.
_ _ _ So _ _ down _ _ _ -up, down on G, [C#m] okay, so down-down-up, [B] down-up-down, _ [C] then I go [B] and I do the upstroke
on [A] F. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Up-up-down-up-down, _ and [G#m] then I do up-down-up, [C#m] _
down-down-up, _ [B] down-down-up, _ down-up-down,
[A] _ _ _
up-down-up-down, [G#m] up-down-up [C#m]
-down.
All right, so you see that?
I'll play through it very [B] slow so you can see it.
[C#m] _ _ [B] _ _ _ [A] _ All _ [G#m] _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ [G#m] _
_ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _

_ _ right, [G#m] and that is the whole song [C#m] over and over again.
[N] You can kind of make it a little bit sloppy and play around with the strumming pattern.
Bob Dylan likes things sloppy, okay?
So just mess around with it, switch it up a little bit every verse, every new verse
you play, and you'll be good to go, okay?
