[Bm] I've been sleeping [G] in the mind, but now my [D] heart is rising, rising [A] with the tide.
Rise is [Bm] about when you kind of lose [G] yourself and you get distracted by [D] people's opinions
or by [A] circumstances of the [Bm] world and forget who you are and lose that a little [G] bit.
So it's a [D] triumphant, epic, powerful song that really [Em] is raw and speaks to your [Bm] own power.
If I could see through [G] different eyes from ten thousand [D] foot skies, I'd never, [A]
never [Bm] fear demise, nor be timid [G] or blue.
How can [D] I grow up?
Rise took [A] this turn in the mix that [Bm] to me made it sound [A] so [D] much bigger than I had [A] ever imagined it [G] sounding.
I just could [Bm] see in my [D] head the [A] video because it sounds like a horse galloping.
[Bm] And I grew up riding horses, so [G] we shot the video at [D] a ranch in Colorado [E] and we basically shot [A] a western.
I'm gonna [Bm] sing it loud.
[G] [D]
[E] These cabins were [Bm] built in the 1890s by [Dm] eastern settlers who came here.
You can only imagine [E] the harsh winters up [G] here.
I think we're at almost ten [Bm] thousand feet.
[G] [D] [N]
Nikki's having a great time as you can see, eating [G] grass.
[D] You know, I [Bm] love [A] westerns.
I spent maybe [Bm] like five years just in a [A] phase of [D] I would only watch movies that [A] were made [G] before like 1965.
[Bm] John [D] Wayne and Clint [A] Eastwood and [Bm] Spencer Tracy and all those guys.
And I fell in love [G] with the strength and the [D] conviction of their [A] values that are in those westerns.
And I also love the [Bm] simplicity of like a good versus [F#m] evil [G] thing and like good [A] wins.
I just I [D] love that, but I love the attitude [A] and the willingness [Bm] to do whatever it [G] takes to [D] achieve your [A] moral [E] stance.
And so I wanted [Bm] to make a video that had that feeling [G] because [A] Rise is really [D] a song about finding your [A] power and not [Bm] letting anyone or anything get in [G] the way of that.
You know, it's a [D] very triumphant epic song.
[A] So I wanted it to have that [D] spirit of the [E] western.
Come back Caroline!
All is [A] forgiven!
