Welcome to New Song [D] Cafe at worshiptogether.com.
[E]
Chris Tomlin is part of a community of [D] songwriters who are shaping the language of worship [B] for this present [A] generation and generations to come.
Yet his gifts [D] are rooted in one central [Gbm] truth.
God [E] is the center of [D] everything.
Today Chris will [A] show us enough.
[D] I'm Rick Kua.
Thanks for joining [E] us for New Song Cafe [G] at [A] worshiptogether.com.
[Gbm] You satisfy [E] me [D] with your [A] love.
[D] And all I have in [E] you is more than [A] enough.
[Gb] Welcome [E] Chris.
Who do you [D] have with you over here?
Louis Giglio, huh?
I [G] know, it's [F] a special day.
Yeah, it's really [Bb] cool for [Ab] Louis to come because [A] this has been years of [G] us just [Ab] traveling [G] together and writing together.
Pretty much [Ab] most of what I know about Lee about leading has come from [G] him.
We've had this partnership for years of writing together and [Gb] this song actually came together.
Fantastic.
[Ab] Tell us about it.
What was the process, the writing process?
[C] Well, it really came [A] from him first.
He's kind of handed me this [G] piece of journal.
Yeah, I have these ideas and thoughts and [Ab] it's amazing.
We were getting [G] ready to head out on tour about a year and a half ago.
I really had an idea stirring in me, just that whole sense of whatever it is that [Gm] we're up [Ab] against,
whatever it is that's going on in our lives, [A] that not only [Ab] is Christ [G] enough [Ab] for us, but [G] He's really more than [Ab] enough.
That was the idea that was kind of [G] stirring.
[Bb] I [A] sort of roughed [Ab] these words out and then I [G] hang on to this stuff forever and just hang around.
[A] Chris [G] sits down at some point and says, you [A] know, you got [Ab] anything kind [G] of stirring around in [A] there?
I say, [Gb] well, [A] I got [Bb] this.
I put these rough words out there and [A] Chris, he's always so [G] encouraging and he's like,
God, that's great, that's wonderful.
[Gm] I'm like, yeah, right.
[Bb] He takes it and goes [G] away.
[Ab] It was not very many [Am] days later, [G] he shows up in my kitchen at our house.
He says, I think I got something [Bb] here.
He plays [G] enough and I'm like, [Bb] [G] wow.
There's a little kernel in there [Ab] of where I started and then pretty much everything else [G] in there is where Chris and the Lord ended up with it.
[Gm] I [A] remember [Ab] standing right [G] in the kitchen at the counter there and he's playing through this and I'm just like, [D] thank you, [G] Lord.
[Ab] Then [G] we took it out on tour with us and [Gm] just saw people just immediately [Db] connect.
[G] You know in that moment, this was birthed out of the heart of God.
[Ab] [Db]
[Eb] [Db]
[Ab] [Bbm] [Db]
[Eb] [Db]
[Ab] [Bbm] [Db]
[Ab] [Db]
[Ab] [Bbm]
[Eb] [Db] Every [Ab] need [Bbm] you satisfy [Eb] me [Db] with your [Cm] love and [Db] all I have in [Eb] you is more than [Ab] [Bbm] enough.
[Eb] [Db]
You are my [Eb] supply, my [Ab] breath of [Db] life and still more [Bbm] awesome than I [Ebm] know.
[Ab] You are [Db] my [Ab]
reward [Ebm] worth [Ab] living [Db] for and still more [Bbm] awesome than I [Eb] know.
And all [Ab] of you [Bbm] is more than enough for [Ab] all of me.
[Bbm] For every thirst and [Ab] every need [Db] you [Bbm] satisfy me [Db] with [Ab] your love [Db] and all I have in [Ebm] you.
More than [Db] all I [Bbm] want, more than [Db] all [Ab] I need.
[Db] You are more [Eb] than [Bbm] enough for me.
[Ab] More than [Db] all I [Eb] know, more than [Db] all I can [Ab] see.
[Db]
You are [Bbm] more than enough and all [Ab] of you [Bbm] is more than enough [Db] for [Ab] all of me.
For [Bbm]
every thirst and [Db]
every [Ab] need [Bbm] you satisfy me [Ab] with your love [Db] and all I [Ebm] have in you.
[Ab] [Db] And all I have in [Bbm] you.
[Ab] And [Eb] all I have in you is more [Ab] than enough.
[Bbm]
[Db] [Ab]
That is great.
[Fm] That is great.
Would you just call out those changes for us?
You know I started, [Bb] like I said, I just wanted a [Ab] different feel.
You know most everything is always kind of up here.
And [G] that's [Bb] great.
And I just wanted something to [Ab] kind of spur my mind a little bit different.
So I'm just [Bb] playing the same D position chords, but I [Ab] just capoed it up on the 6th fret.
[Eb] And you're just moving this [A] finger really, your index finger around.
[Ab] And it's always kind of, the [G] bass note is kind of always [Ab] flowing.
So it's [Db]
[Eb] [Db]
[Bbm]
[Eb] real simple that [Db] way, but it's like every two beats something is moving.
[Ab]
[Bbm] [Ebm]
And even on [Db] the verse.
[Ab]
[Db] [Eb]
[Ab] [Db] So it [Ab] [Bbm]
[Ebm] seems like a lot of chords, but it's not.
[Ab] It's pretty simple or else I wouldn't be playing it. Sorry, sorry.
[Db] It's like an [Eb] A sustained.
Kind of a D [Ab] over F sharp.
[Db]
[Ab] G, [Bbm] E minor, [Eb] A sustained.
[Ab] [Bbm] Okay.
[C] Beautiful.
[D] Thank you [Ab] both of you guys.
We appreciate you so much.
It's [D] obvious that this great stuff [Db] comes from the Lord [G] and through [D] your friendship.
[E] Thanks, sir.
Thanks for [D] having me here.
