Start Jamming...
Alright, [Bb] so this is Deep River Blues and we got a couple of new chords here.
[E] E7, [Eb] E diminished, [Bb] I switch [E] my fingers, [Bb] [D] the first and second, I switch them.
A lot of people just kind of scrunch them [Bbm] all up.
It's up to you.
The next riff there is [A] off an A chord.
I use a barre.
[Gb]
You can use [Bb] A7 like that or like this.
Even if [G] you can do [A] it that way, [Bbm] I just can't squeeze my pinky [Db] in there if I do that A [Eb] like that.
Some people do it like that.
[A] Experiment, there's a lot of different ways you can do that.
Then we got a regular E chord and [B] B7.
[N] So here's the elements in the right hand for the E7, E diminished and E7.
We're doing alternating patterns starting with a pinch.
So you're [E] going, so that's 6 and 1, 2, 4, 1, thumb.
[Bb] That's all you got going there.
It sounds a lot [E] more than what it is.
[Bb] So we do the same thing on E [E] diminished, E7 again.
The A7 [Bb] lick is 3 pinches in a row and then the second string.
[Gb] So it's [A] 3, 2, open, [Db] then the second string.
The second string is an eighth note.
[Gb]
So it would be [A] pinch, pinch, [E] pinch, open, you finish with the thumb.
[Bb] [Bbm] The E is pretty straight forward.
We do a pinch and [D] double stop on 1 and 2.
[E]
[Bb] Then we're going to climb into B7, [A] [Bb] going open [A] fifth for the [Bb] first fret.
Then we play on our B7 chord immediately.
[B] [Bb] Then that [B] first [Bbm] string there on the B7, the fifth string that's your fret on 2,
[B] is the end of your bass line.
[D] So [Bbm] that's actually going to be your first thumb in the song.
[B] We [Bbm] pick up the pinch, double stop on 1, 2, and 4.
So you get, [Bb] [B]
[Eb] [G] we go back to E7, same [E] way as before.
A is the same, [A]
[E] short E, short [B] B,
[E] finish on E, and either quit or [B] repeat.
So here it is all [Bb] together at a decently slow tempo.
[E] 1, 2, 3, 4.
[D] [A] [E]
[B]
[E]
[A] [E]
[B] [E]
