Hi, here we are with this new tutorial in which we are going to review a piano tumbado
for the wawancor rhythm.
This is going to be a two chord progression, very easy, but it's going to be with a very fast rhythm.
So we are going to practice it first very slowly, ok?
It's going to be in the key of E minor.
E minor and the second chord we are going to be [D] playing is D major, [Em] ok?
[D] Just these two chords.
[E] So as we already saw in several tutorials, when you were playing a latin piano, we use
a lot of the octaves to give a whole, a more body latin sound, ok?
So the main note here, when we are going to be playing here in the E minor is going to
be E, and played with the octave, ok?
And the notes are going to be answering, or the harmonies are [G] going to be the key of G
and [Em] B.
So together they form all the E minor chord, ok?
So main note and harmonization, ok?
[G]
And the second chord is going to be a D [D] major, and the main note is going to be a D major,
played with two octaves, and with these notes F sharp and A for harmonization, ok?
[Em] So [D] these are going to be the two chords for the progression.
So first of all we [Em] are going to see the variations with the main note.
The main note when we are playing here in the E minor is going to be playing with E
[G]
and D.
These two notes in the [E] same chord.
And when [D] we change to the D major we are going to play D and C, ok?
[G] These two notes for E minor and these [D] two notes for D major, ok?
So we are going to start first, [Em] the exercise is going to be playing the main note and the
harmonies this way.
[G]
Ok, practice this exercise first.
And then [D] we change to D
[F] [G] and we get back to
Ok, so we are going to be playing one whole [Em] time here in E [D] minor, another one in D.
We repeat another one in D [C] and we [G] change to [E] E one more time, ok?
So the exercise is going to be this [G] way.
[Em] [D]
[Em] [E]
And another thing very important here and useful in the Latin piano is, when you are
changing one note to [D] another [E] note in a whole [Eb] note, you can use the semitone between [E] both notes.
Ok, this example is going to be [Em] here.
When we change from E [D] minor to D, [E] we are going to [Eb] use the E flat note [E] to get from E [D] to D.
[G] This way.
[Eb] [D]
And again to [Eb] get from D to E, [Em] use the E flat, ok?
This way.
[Eb]
[D] [Em]
[G] Ok, another thing you can do is use the harmonies with both notes at the same time.
[Em] [Eb]
[D] [Em] [G]
Or also make a variation between both examples.
[D]
[G] And another variation we can use here is to play several times the same note, this way.
[D]
This is a little bit [G] harder, ok, to play.
Ok, [D] [Eb] [G]
[Em] you can use a lot of variations here.
And after you already practiced with one hand, with your right hand in this octave, you can
move this example to one octave up.
And do exactly the same with your left hand but play two octaves down.
So [E] at the end you are going to be playing four octaves here with the [D] main notes, ok?
[E] [D]
[Em] [D] Harmonies [Em] in both chords.
[D]
And practice all the variations we already saw here, [Em] like this.
[G]
[Em] [Eb] [D]
[Em] [G] [Em] Or [Em] the [D] [Em] [G]
[Em] last [G] variation.
[Em] [D]
[Eb] [G] [Em] [G] [Em]
Ok, so start [Gb] with right hand, slowly, start making faster rhythm, then play with both hands, ok?
So, practice a lot and I hope you like this tutorial and see you at the next one.
