Jam Along & Learn...
How's it going?
Do some ACDC today, Highway to Hell.
So I have a very appropriate guitar for this song and let me show you why.
at these little [A#m] inlays,
are cute little birds, but they're [C] actually not.
That's [N] right.
Perfect for Highway to Hell.
[D#] All right.

How's it going?
Thimbar here from Thimbar Bass.
Do some ACDC today, Highway to Hell.
So I have a very appropriate guitar for this song and let me show you why.
If you look right down over [A#] here, if you look at these little [A#m] inlays,
[E] see, at first glance you might think [Cm] that those are cute little birds, but they're [C] actually not.
They're actually bats.
That's [N] right.
The Schechter bass has the bats on the inlays.
Perfect for Highway to Hell.
Bass is going straight to hell, obviously.
[D#] All right.
_ So anyway, just let you know real quick, [B] you can click right down on [C] the_
_ _ [C#] _
_ _ [N] _ That's them telling you in dog language, but in human language, if [F#] you_ _ _ _
_ [E] Puppies.
If you click down on the little YouTube [G] text box down there, you can get three [N] free lessons.
Don't cost you anything.
For bass.
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Whatever you need.
Let's go ahead and jazz this bass line up a little bit.
He doesn't actually play in the studio recording
during the beginning parts of the guitar, but _
let's go ahead and show you how to play over the guitar for those parts anyway, because it's just boring if you just sit there
and [C] don't do anything.
So the first three notes, take a look [N] at my old hand, _ _ are_ _ _
[D] Do three open notes of the A [A] string.
_ [Fm] Just like that.
And then you're going to do _ the F_
_ _ [F#] second fret of the E string twice,
followed by the third fret of the E string.
_ [G] _ [A] Just like that.
So far you have_
[F#] _ _ [G] _ _
[F#] and then you're going to repeat that. _ _ _ _
_ [A] _ _ See that?
So it's_ _
_ [G] And then you're going to hit _ _
_ [F#] [D] second fret, second fret, then third fret.
And then [B] repeat that second set.
Second fret, second fret, third [F#] fret.
_ _ [G] _ _ Then go back to [F#] the second fret, the E string, [G#] for just one.
And then [A] two on the open A.
_ _ _ _ _ [F#] _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _ [A] _
_ [G] Just like that. _ _ _
And then for when the lyrics come in, you're going to do 12 [C] hits on the open E [E] string. _ _ _ _
[D] Just like that.
And [C#] then_
Make sure you can see my hand [A] here.
_ When [F] he starts singing,
Highway to Hell, what he does is hits [F#] the fifth fret of the E string, just like [A] this. _ _ _
_ So you get a picture of_ _ _ _
[B] You want to hear it out of tune. _ _ _ _
_ _ [Am] But what some people do, and what's more fun to do live, is just basically play more notes. _
_ _ _ [D] Just [F#] like that.
But anyway, [A] he goes_
_ _ _ _ _ [A] And then you're going to hit_
[G#] and that's actually [A] six times. _ _ _
_ [G] _ And then you're going to hit the
[N] fifth fret of the D string, and then the fourth fret of the D string.
So it sounds [A] like this. _ _ _ _ _ _
[F#] _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] _ [F#] _ _ And you're going to do [D] that three times, and then on the fourth time you're actually going to hit the fifth fret and then the seventh fret.
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [B] Just like that.
So somewhere around the third chorus,
[F] I [Gm] believe.
He throws some extra notes in there.
Not a whole lot, but maybe something [A] like_ _ _ _ _ _
_ [F#] _ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [B] And what I'm doing there is
he's moving to the fourth fret of the A string, then the seventh fret of the A string,
_ and then back to the [F#] fifth fret of the D string, and then the fourth fret of the D [A] string. _ _ _
_ [G] _ _ [F#] _ Something like that.
[A]
So there you have it.
[D] Not much else.
ACDC, [G#] Bad Out of Hell.
_ Oh, I said Bad Out of Hell!
Ha!
Thinking about my little bad inlays.
It's ACDC, Highway to Hell.
_ How funny.
So anyway, thanks a lot for listening.
Again, click on the little [D#] clicker down there in the YouTube text box,
and I can get three free [F] lessons that aren't on YouTube.
I'm Finn Barr from Finn Barr Bass.
