So in this video, I'm going to show you another way to play the left hand in great balls of fire
[G] Using boogie woogie patterns or boogie woogie bass line.
[C]
[G] So on the C chord, basically, we're leaving out the middle [Gm] note in our left hand
We're just playing a basic C chord leave out the middle note and your thumb is going to go from G up a whole step
We're going to skip one note in any key and we're gonna go from G [C] to A back and forth
[F] Same thing on the F chord you leave out the middle note your thumb goes up a whole step same [G] thing on the G chord
Your middle finger leaves out the middle note and your thumb goes up a whole step from D to E
So this is the G chord and in the right hand you can play the full G chord the missing note
And [F] [C]
those are all the chords [C#m] for great balls of fire
I'm also going to go much slower than the original song so that you can take notes on the chords and follow along easily
Here we go
[G] [Cm] You shake my nose and you rattle my [F] brain
[N] Too much love drives a man [F] insane
[G] You broke my will
[F]
But [G] what a thrill I [C] said goodness gracious great balls of fire
I left you love because I thought it was funny
[F] You came along and you moved me honey
[G] You changed my mind
[F] Love's just fine.
I [C] said goodness [F] gracious great balls of fire
Kiss me, baby
[C] Whoo feels good
[F] Hold my baby
Girl, [G] I love you like a cousin [F] should [G] [F] You're fine
[G] So [F] kind [G] I'm gonna love you till you're mine
[C] But you my name's in a tree
[F] I'm nervous, but it sure is fun
[G] Come on, baby.
[F] You're driving me crazy
[C]
Goodness gracious great [F] [G] balls of fire
[C]
And now we're into a solo and this part can be pretty much whatever you want
You want it to be a little different every time but that's for another video
The [A] [F]
[C]
[C#] other part I want to add in is that on these [G] sections where we have some lines to play
[A] [B] You [C]
can always make these thicker by playing two notes in [D#] one hand.
So if I'm not [A] playing our G a [C] B and C
We can play it in [D#] octaves and [G] make it sound much bigger especially in your left hand [B] [C] that sounds huge [G] [C] and
Especially when you do it fast like that
[F] And
[F#] [G] [F] on this part if you want to add in extra notes, you can play the whole chord
You don't have to just play F.
You can play an F major chord in your right hand
[F#] And an F sharp major chord [G] and a G major [F] chord
[F#]
[G] [F] [C] same [F] goodness gracious
[G] [C]
Great
Throw in as many glissandos with your thumbnail as you can
Try not to make [G] try to make sure you don't get any skin because that'll rip it up
You just want [G#m] to use your thumbnail and [C] lightly
Drag it down the keyboard
That's it post any questions you have for me on the blog and I'll do my best to answer them and be sure and check
