[C] [N] Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz from GuitarJams.com here.
Happy to teach you another lesson and thank you for the great feedback on my Cat Stevens cover.
It really made me feel really good, so thank you.
I'm going to teach you guys the chords to that progression right now.
It really just fits into the F major pentatonic scale.
And then, you know, that's pretty much the whole scale you would use for everything on this progression.
All right, the first chord is an F major chord.
I think it would be a good idea to play this as a bar chord for this song.
[F]
[D] Then we go to a C [Bb] chord, Trouble [G] Set Me Free.
[C]
And I'll work on a little rhythm in a second.
So we've got F to C, then we need a G minor chord.
All these chords are from the [F] key of F major.
[Gm]
G minor, [G] looks like your finger's the capo and you play [Ab] an E minor shape [Gm] there.
So we have that.
And then the next chord is B flat major.
So you could either do this one [Bb] up to where the root's on the sixth fret and add your
middle finger and make it a bar chord.
[Gm]
[Bb] [Gm]
[Bb] So it repeats G minor to B flat.
I usually play the B flat right here.
[Am] These are all in my e-book too that you can [Gb] get from the link below.
[Bb]
[F] Same chord, B flat major.
It's up to you.
I play this one, tends to be harder for a beginner.
So here's what we got.
F.
Chord, whoa, [C]
let me play the C.
[Gm]
G [Bb] minor, B [D] flat, oh, G minor, B [Bb] flat.
Stays there [F] back to trouble, [C] oh, trouble can't you see.
[A] [G] [Gbm]
[Bb] Caught a wreck [Gm] in the [Bb] love that's me.
So, [Gm] check this rhythm out.
[Gb] There's really only the bridge and then that's the whole song.
We got, so we got down, down, down, down, up.
And I'm swinging it a little bit.
There's a little bit of groove there.
We got down, down, down, down, up, up, up, down, up, down, down, down, down, down, down,
down, up, [E] up, up, down, [F] down.
[C]
[Gm]
[Bb] [Gm]
[Bb] [F]
[C] [Gm]
[Bb]
[Gm] [Bb] [Gm] So.
[Bb]
[Gm] [Bb]
So the rhythm on those two are a little different.
[Gm]
[Bb] [Gm]
[Bb] [F]
[D] [G]
I'm going to show you the bridge, but one thing people might have been confused on is
I was playing it in this area and I was, what I was playing mostly was the position where
the roots on the A string and I'm playing the major pentatonic, F major pentatonic.
It's the exact same thing as the D minor pentatonic scale.
The only difference is the F major is played with F as the root.
[D] [F]
[Bb] Whereas the D [D] minor has the D as the root.
[F]
[D] [Eb] And that's the difference between the major and the minor pentatonic.
Let me show you this bridge.
The bridge has three chords that are just down strums.
One, two, three.
[Bb] And it goes [G] like this.
[C] [G] Which is G, [E] E, [C] C.
[G] Check it out.
G, E, right this way.
[E]
[C] E, C.
[Bb] So it's one, two, three.
It's a little measure of three-fourths, what you call [G] that.
[D] One, two, three.
So it goes [G] into this bridge, which [D] is D, [G] G, [D] G.
So it's E.
[G] [D] So D, [G] D, G, G, G, G.
[F]
F [C] to C.
[F]
F [C] to C.
[G] G minor [Bb] to B flat.
G minor to B flat are always together.
And then it goes right to [D] D.
[G] D, G, [F]
F, [C] F, C.
[F]
F, [C] F, C.
[Em] G [Gm] minor.
[Gb] Check it to [Bb] C.
[Em]
[F] [C] Trouble, trouble, set me free.
[Gm]
Eating [Bb] my heart away, [A] and I'm sending much [Bb] left to me.
[F]
Trouble, [C]
trouble, can't you see.
[Gm]
That G [Bb] minor ends to B flat, [G] and it makes my hands [Bb] feel misery.
[E] Okay, the bridge.
[D] D,
[G] G, [F] F, [C]
C.
C, C.
[F] F, [C]
C.
[G] G minor.
[Bb]
Now just right to [D] D again.
[G] [F] [C]
[G] [F] [C]
[Gm]
[Bb] [F]
