[A] [F#]
[A]
[B] I'm going to respond to a comment on an earlier video and I'm going to respond to
one [E] one one buckethead and the comment was [F] I'd really love to see a sweet
things in life tutorial so I'm going to go ahead and do that before I do I got
to say I've been playing in Harlequin for a number of years now but I am the
replacement player for the great Glenn [F#] Willows who every time I do a tutorial
this isn't the first time I've been asked to do [G#] a tutorial on a Harlequin
song but I do have to say props to to Glenn and his playing and the parts that
are on the original recording I mean that's what I'm trying to emulate when I
play the song so with the keyboard part which is you're gonna hear like
[F#]
[N] as that's going on a guitar swells in and what [E] it does is that rock and roll
[G#]
[G#] so I mean you know we're in F sharp [F#] minor and
[G#] if you look up here at the 17th fret
on the second string and the 16th fret on the third string you've got that [A] that [F#]
[G#m] rock
roll sound from the pentatonic [F] scale in F [E] sharp minor and what happens there is
you're gonna hold those two notes down and slowly bend the third string [C]
[Em] as you
fade in and you know at concert volume you'd be feeding back in fact [E] you'd be
trying to you'd be trying to tame that
[C] [G#]
[F#] [E] okay what's [F#] happening there F [N] sharp on the sixth string second fret with your
second finger the middle two strings the fourth and third string you'll bar it
with your third [A] finger and [F#] you will then point on the fourth string second
fret and put your first finger on the first [E] fret of the third string [D#] so
it's like an [F#m] E chord so it's like F sharp minor 7 to an [E] E chord but you keep
the F sharp in [F#] the bass right
[F#m] [G#m]
[E] and of course there's a walk every [C#] time and
[G#] that's just going B C C sharp [G#] so that's second fret third fret [F#] fourth fret on
the fifth [C] string [C#] to the [E]
fourth string second fret the E [C#m]
between [F#m] every
[F#]
[G#m]
so it does that throughout the entire first verse [A] in the second verse it
transposes [G] so [A]
[B] [C] [F#]
what's happening there the exact same thing at the fifth fret
so you're doing it in a your second fingers on the fifth fret of the [A] sixth
string [A] your third finger is barring [C#] the fifth fret of the middle two strings the
[G] fourth and third [G] and then your first string will go to [E] the fourth fret of [A] the
third string and [A] there is no walk there you
move up to the
[B] seventh fret and do the exact same now walk up the sixth ring
[E] okay this [G#m] the same thing but on the sixth string and fifth string so that's
seven eight nine [C#m] to the seventh fret of the fifth string [F#] back into the F sharp you
[F#]
[A] now the chorus part you're gonna hit an a power chord and I like to do this with
my middle [F#] two fingers on the fourth and third string at the second fret with the
[A] open fifth string cool now you'll remove the third finger to open up the third
string [N] and just go from the second [Em] string kind of [F#] sounding like an a7 chord
with [A] a cool [Em]
[F#] now you're gonna go to a [F] B power chord so that's that [F#] first finger
on the fifth string second fret and then [C#] the [B] power chord the fourth fret of the
next string [F#m] right so [A] [Em] the
[B] sweet [F#] things in life so [G#]
[B]
let's leave it there that's that
that gets you through the [F] whole song you should be able to play the entire song
with those few little
