We [E] start on the 10th fret, [D] 6th string, and [E] we hit it twice.
On the 5th string, we hammer on 10 to 12.
[E] the next note we want to hear.
It has to be pretty strong.

So remember, as always, there's tabs below to help you follow along.
Let's get [D] started.
_ [F] _ _
We [E] start on the 10th fret, [D] _ 6th string, and [E] we hit it twice.
On the 5th string, we hammer on 10 to 12.
And a hammer on is [G] when we pick one note, [Em] and we literally slap [E] the next note we want to hear.
So it's one attack with the pick, and then a slap.
[C]
It has to be pretty strong.
And I [A] keep this finger down.
That pressure helps us get the next note.
[Am] _ And then, I [F] go ahead and drop my pointer [Fm] on the 10th fret to the 4th and 3rd [E] strings, and I bar them.
So I'm plucking them both at the same [F] time. _ _
_ And then I slide it [E] down.
A slide is when we have pressure on the guitar, and it's like [F] someone pushed us, right?
_ [F#] _
So you don't lift up your finger.
[A] Once you lift up your finger, you lose all the note sustain.
So you want to keep the [D] pressure down.
_ [A] _ _ [F] _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _ [F] _
_ _ _ Alright, [E] let's check it out in the open position.
So now I'm going to pluck the 4th string open, which is the D [D] note.
_ Twice.
It's going to be the same thing that we did, the same kind of movement, but now in the open position.
_ [Am] _ Then I do a hammer on on the 3rd string to 2, which is an [Bm] A note.
[D] So, open, open.
_ [F] _ [C] I bar the 1st and 2nd strings, the [E] same kind of bar we do for that F major chord.

But those two with my pointer.
[Dm] _ _ _
_ _ [D] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ [G] _ _ [F] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [N] So this solo has two harmonies.
We'll go over both of them.
So first, let's do the high harmony.
So it's a bunch of whole step bends.
It's fairly simple, but it is really important to make sure we're bending actually a whole step.
So, as I've said before in other videos, you always want to check yourself.
So if it's a half step bend, play the fret one fret higher than what you're supposed to bend.
Hear that note and then bend.
If it's a whole step, go 2.
Pick that note and then bend a match.
So, [F#] for example, _ _ _ _ _ [E] bend to it.
If it's a half step, just go up 1 and then bend that.
And when you're bending, sometimes it feels better to have your thumb over the neck and pushing your fingers together.
So this solo is all about control.
So it's one bend going up. _
And you can do a little rake if you want.
That's what that noise was before I hit my bend.
It's just when your pick goes against the [F] strings. _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ So that's our phrase.
Bend, bend up again, and then bend release.
_ [Bm] _ _
_ We go [F#] bend, bend, bend release, [F] bend.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [A] _ _ [F] _ _ _ _ [G]
Once we pull [E] off, so the only pull off we do is that 15.
I'm bending the 15 E string [E] to 13.
And then I go bend a whole step on 15, the second string, [F] the B string.
[F#] _ _ _ [G] _ _ [F#] _ _ _
[D#] _ _ [E] _ _ And then we end with bending on the 15th fret, [C] B string.
_ _ _ [C]
Pull off to 13 and then back [F#] _ [E] to 12.
So now for the lower harmony.
Our phrase is exactly the same because they need to be really, really tight when we play them together.
We're going to be on the second string, the B string, bending that note, but that's our starting note.
So that's why it's [C#] different.
_ _ [C] _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ [A#m] My [E] starting note is now 15, same fret, but on the B string.
So that would be the first one, and it's a whole step bend, the first one for [A#] this harmony.
_ _ _ [Cm] _
_ [B] _ _ _ _ _ _
[D] But then I come out [F#] of that position and I go to the 12th fret, G string.
_ _ _ _ [G] And my ending note is actually [B] 13 on the B string.
[E] So this one's a little bit different.
It's not the same two strings.
It changes.
So adding some vibrato when we're bending [Am] in the air, like when it's up, is a nice effect, right?
_ _ [G] _ _ [D] _
_ It can make [E] it sound a little smoother.
So remember, vibrato is when we're just kind of manipulating the pitch.
We're not bending [N] into a specific note, like how we counted up a whole step the last time.
We're just wiggling around the pitch, and it makes this really cool vibrato sound that adds a lot of feel to [F] your playing. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [N] _ _
_ _ _ _ So this low is very interesting because it's literally only bends.
So it's very good for working on your bend.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ And the lower. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
