Hey people, it's Jay St.

Super easy song.
It all consists of root fifth power chords.
So, shape is always going to be any fret, count one, two, count up a string, that's your chord.
So, it starts out on B, which is [B] on the seventh fret.
Seventh fret low E, ninth fret on A.
[Bm] Then it goes to an E [Eb] flat, same shape, on the eighth fret.
[Abm] Then it goes to A flat, same shape, [C] on [Eb] the fourth fret.
Stay on the fourth [E] fret, bring that up to the [Dbm] A string.
So, when you put that all together, [Ab] it's the [B] main part of the song.
[Eb] [Ab]
[Ab]
[B] [Eb] [Ab] [B]
[Ab] [Dbm] [Em]
And then the chorus [G] part is the F sharp, same shape, on the second fret, [N] to the E.
This is the only time we [Eb] deviate from that shape in this whole song.
So, it's the E, you're just going to play the A and the D string on [E] the second fret.
[G] So, it [Gb] goes F [Em] sharp, E, [Dbm] C sharp, [E] E, [Db] C sharp, [E] E,
[Db] C sharp, and [Bm] then B, [A] A, [Ab] A flat.
So, I'll play one revolution of the verse, then I'll play the chorus, and then I'll play the little lead back from the chorus, all in sequence.
This is how it goes.
[Eb] [Ab]
[Eb] [Ab] [Dbm]
[Bm] [Ab] [Db]
[B] [Ab] [Db]
[Ab] [Em]
[Db]
[Em] [Db]
[B] [E] [Ab]
That's the whole song, except for on the recorded version, there's an interlude in the middle with a bunch of backwards [C] sounds and electronic sounds.
That doesn't really lend itself to playing by yourself on an acoustic guitar, or playing by [G] yourself at all.
That's kind of best to leave that section out if you're going to play it with friends.
So, hope you enjoyed your lesson with Nirvana today.
