Start Jamming...
Okay, this is Andy again.
We are going to pick up from where we left on the Fighting Temptations song.
[C] Just so we correct some mistakes we have made in the previous video.
We said the A was a first inversion [Ab] and [C] that was not quite correct because this is a second inversion.
[Bm] A [A] minor in root [Bb] position [Am] is played in A, C, E.
And if we make the last note of the chord, the [E] bottom note, like we are taking the E down, to [Am] play it down there,
so it becomes second inversion, not first inversion.
So we said it was a first inversion, now it is a second inversion.
Okay, that [Ab] is the mistake I think we have made.
Alright, [F] just to recap what we did [G] last time.
[C] [Dm] [C] [F]
Alright, [G] [A]
[Am] [G]
[F] [C] [Dm] [C]
now we play again the same thing up, the same way we played it, but it is almost [E] different.
It is not [G] exactly the same way we played it.
On the right [Bb] hand we [C] still start with the same E and C.
This is middle C by the way.
We [F] sort of play the F alone this time.
We don't play it together with the C.
But when we throw in the [G] G, we throw [C] it together with the C.
So how do we do that?
We go [F]
[C] like that.
And then instead of doing the A that we played the last time, like that,
because this [F] in actual fact is the part of the F [Ab] chord, we [Gb] just played the top [F] note of it.
So this time we won't play the top note, we will play the bottom note, which is going to be F and A.
So how do we do that?
[C] We do it like so.
[F] [C] [F] This is just to give that effect as if it is going down.
So again.
[C] [F] [C]
[F] [Cm] [F] Alright, so if we looked at the bass again, it plays the same thing.
It is C, [D] D, [E] [F] E, F.
Alright, so together it goes.
[C] [Dm]
[C] [F] And then you still do that tapping.
Now this time we play the full G chord on the right [G] hand.
[D] [G]
[Am] Alright, that's what we do.
So what have we [G] done there?
When we played the G chord, we played [D]
going back to D a little bit and [G] then tapping on the B together with the G.
Then we play that A [Ab] minor [Am] second again.
You can still play the octave down if you like, or you can just keep it that way.
And then we go and play A minor first [A] inversion, I mean sorry, A minor in root [Am] position.
That run there, that's a D [D]
[Am] and C.
Then we [G] go back to G.
Playing the octave down, but this time we don't run back down the same way we have done in the previous.
We remain with that G again.
[Em] So we sort of run back up to E, [G] so G.
[Em] Then we go to [Dm] F.
And on the bass we are playing [F] a D.
So that qualifies as a D minor [Dm] seventh.
Alright, so let's do that part again.
[E] What do we do there?
[G] [Dm]
[F] And then we go back to the up [C] again.
[Dm] [C] [F]
And then we sort of play it similarly with the way [G] we played it in [Am] the
Again.
[G]
[F] [C] [Dm] [C] Right, so let's do that slowly up and down.
Like that.
Now we are going to play the two parts together now.
So it goes, first part.
[Dm] [C] [F]
[G] [Am]
[G]
[F] [C] [Dm] [C] And then the second one.
[Dm] [C] [F]
And then we do.
[G] [Am]
[D] [Am] [G]
[Dm]
[C] [Dm] [C] [F]
[G] [Am]
Alright, [G]
[F] [C] [Dm] [C]
that's what we do.
And then in the upcoming video we will do the bridge section.
Which is slightly different from this one.
[Gb] But then it drives back to the same thing.
And that's the whole song.
