What's up guys, [Gm] how's it going?
Thank you so much for clicking on my video [F] today.
This is my first in-depth tutorial video, so I'm going to be [Eb] showing you how to play Never See Me Again on the piano.
So let's [Bbm] go!
[Gm]
Okay guys, so just before we get started, I want a slightly smaller keyboard here.
So I'm going to move my [C] middle C from here to here.
So when you learn this on the piano, just for reference, this note here is my middle C.
[Gb] Okay, so straight into the first bar, this is what we're playing.
Nice and slow.
Okay, so let's break it down hand at a time.
Starting in the right hand, we've got this chord, G flat chord, starting here.
And we're going from this shape up to here.
Then we're playing this little run down, these three notes.
As we play these three notes, we're [Db] also playing a D flat with each of them.
[Gb]
Then after that, we're going to this shape, which is the same shape with an E added.
And we're going from there, up to this.
Then a G flat chord shape with an E added.
And doing the same thing coming down these three notes, but playing the D flat and the E at the same time.
Like that.
So
From the start.
In [Gb] the left hand, this is what we're playing.
So we're starting with these G flat octaves, hitting the D flat, [Db] then go to the G flat and E, and hitting the D flat again.
[Gb]
[Db] So it sounds like [Gb] this.
So notice how it comes in just before that next chord.
And that rhythm's going to crop up a lot, so make sure you've got that down nicely.
Okay, so, [B] on to the second bar.
[Bm] [Bm] [B] Slowly.
[Bm] [D]
So breaking it down hand at a time, we've got the right [Eb] hand playing this B flat and E flat.
And we're going from there to these three [Gb] chords.
[Ebm]
Then we jump to this diminished chord, [Ab] three notes.
[Ebm]
[Gb] And finish with these two notes, which are part of this movement.
[D] [Ebm] [Ab]
[B] And in the [G] left hand, we're [Gb] playing
[Bm] So [B] we're starting with this B and G flat.
Or C flat, technically.
And then we're doing the same rhythm as before, we hit that second note before the second chord in the right hand.
We're going
Okay, so
Then we hit those notes again.
[Bm]
So go with this chord.
[B]
And then we finish [Gb] with
[D]
Those final four notes.
So, [Gb] from the start.
[B] [Bm]
[D] Okay, so, into the third bar.
[Bbm]
[Ebm] And slowly.
[Bbm]
[Ebm] So, in the right hand, starting here with this B flat minor 7 shape.
And we're going from here to this little run.
Four notes.
[Db] And from there, from that A flat, we're going straight into this D flat major chord.
Which is [Bbm] a little bit of an awkward jump.
[Db] Just because the thumb has to sort of go from there to there.
It can be a little bit awkward at first, but just practice it slowly.
[Gb]
And those last two chords are that shape from the very beginning.
That G flat major [Bbm] shape.
[Gb]
So, [Bb] moving on to the left hand, we're playing this.
[Eb]
Okay, [Bb] so starting here.
B flat and F.
I'm playing these [Eb] three octaves on E flat.
Just before that we have a little
Offbeat sort of lead in here in the left hand.
[Ab] And that note lines up with the A flat in this run.
[Ebm]
So, we're doing that really slowly.
[Bbm] [Gb] [Eb]
[Ebm] So, [Bbm] practice that really slowly to make sure you've got that rhythm.
[Ebm]
Because it is a little bit awkward [Bbm] at first, but it just takes practice.
[Ebm] [Abm] And then on to the final bar.
[Db] Nice and [Abm] slow.
[B]
Okay, [Ebm] so right hand starting here.
A flat minor 7.
And then we're hitting that G flat note one more time.
Then moving up to another A flat minor [Abm] shape.
Like this.
[B] [Abm]
From there we're hitting this [Ebm] chord.
E flat minor.
[Ebm] And then the final two chords are this B major [B] shape.
[Ebm]
[B] [B]
So, the right hand is this.
[Ab] In the left hand we're starting here.
Octaves on A flat.
And then doing this chromatic run.
[Db]
[Ab] [Eb] [C]
[Db] I'm not too sure what the best sort of finger sequence to use there is, but what [Ab] I do is this.
[Db]
[Gb] Together, we actually hit that G flat note at the same time we hit this B flat here.
So, really slowly I'll [Abm] show you what I mean.
[B]
[Abm] [B]
And those four final chords are all played together.
Nice and easy.
[Abm] [B]
[B] [Gb] So, from the very beginning, nice and slow, this is what we're playing.
[Bm]
[Bbm] [Ebm]
[Abm] [B]
[Gb] [Gm] So, that was my third index tutorial video.
I really hope you found it [Dm] helpful.
I welcome any feedback at all on ways you think [Eb] I could improve these videos, make them easy to understand.
