This is Phil, and today I'm going to be showing you how
to [Dm] play Stay [Eb] by Rihanna.
And in this [C] video, we're going to be looking at the intro, which sounds
like this.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ [Dm] _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ Alright, that's it.
So let's start with the right hand.
[C] _ Middle finger on middle C.
We're
going to be sticking around that area for the majority of this intro.
So we're going to go
middle C there.
_ _ And our other two [G] notes are a G below [Em] and an E above.
So we've got G, [C] C, E, C major
chord. _ _
We're going to hit that three times, and then move it up by one note to a D minor [Dm] chord.
That's going to be A, D, F. _
_ Alright, we're only going to play that one time.
[A] Okay, from there,
keep our thumb on A, but our top two notes move [Am] down to C and E. _
_ So we play that.
_ Alright, so
let's recap that for a [C] sec.
We're going to start here, _ _ and that's one, two, three, up by [Dm] one for
one, [Am] _ and then you're here at A minor chord, A, C, E. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ So then when you get to this chord, you're going
to play that three times, drop your [C] thumb down to G, bring it back to A, and do that again.
_ _ Do that. _ _ _
_ So [C] from the top, we've got one, two, three, four, [Am] one, two, three, [C] down, [Am] _ two, three, [Am] down, _ three.
And then we're going to repeat [C] that whole thing.
_ _ _ [Dm] _ _
_ _ _ [C] _ _ [Am] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
And that's it.
_ Alright, let's get the left hand
in the mix, [C] starting with a C. _
_ And we'll hold that down for the first three times that the right hand
plays this chord.
So it'll go like this.
One, two, three.
Notice the left hand note stays down while
the right hand plays those rhythms. _ _ _
_ Then when you go up to the next chord in the right hand,
your left hand's going to play D.
[D] Again, just one time, and then we're [Am] moving down.
So A down.

_ _ [Dm] _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [C] Okay, _
_ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _

Now, granted, that was a little slower.
That's good practice
tempo.
So if you need to, stop there, rewind that, and practice along with that slower tempo
we just did until you're feeling really good about it.
