Hey guys, welcome back to Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy, and I got a lot of requests to do this one
I did a couple small snippets of it and people said hey, could you please go ahead and do the whole tune?
So it's Creedence John Fogarty's a singer and the song's called fortunate son, and it goes like [G] this
[F] [Em]
[G]
[F] [C]
[G]
[F] [C]
[G]
[D] [C]
[G]
[D] [C] I ain't no fortunate [G] one, no, no
Some folks have all [F] silver spooned [C] head
Lord don't they have [G] themselves, oh
But when the test man [F] comes to the [C] door
Lord they [G] have such like a rolling stallion
It ain't me, [D] it ain't [C] me
I ain't no [G] millionaire son, no, no
It ain't me, [D] it ain't me
[C] I ain't no fortunate [G] one, no
[C#] [C]
[G]
[C#] [C]
[G] Yeah, yeah
Some folks inherit [F] star-spangled [C] eyes
Ooh, they send you [G] down the wall
And when you ask them [F] how much should we give
[C] Ooh, they only [G] ask for small, small
It ain't me, [D] it ain't [C] me
No [G] military son, no, no
It ain't [D] me, it ain't [C] me
I ain't no fortunate [G] one, no, no
It ain't me, [D] it ain't [C] me
I ain't no fortunate [G] one, no, no [A#] Whoo!
Alright, so great, great, talented guy, what a fabulous songwriter, and most of this is just
hardcore belting, right in the upper mid voice, and what I teach in my course is that we first
have to grow the chest voice to build a nice, strong, powerful chest voice, then we grow our
head voice, and then we can mix this sound together, but for the most part, this is the
kind of song where you, like most singers are at, where they kind of feel like they
are always at the cresp or the zenith or the pinnacle of the top of their range, and this
is one of the tunes where if you can master it, you can actually pretty much sing almost
anything in this sort of belting register.
So, anyway, thank you for joining me, we've got more on your way, Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy.
