Hi, Marty Schwartz here.
I'm going to teach you this cool little rock and roll song.
We need three chords and one note besides those three chords and a little lick.
So the first chord is an E power chord.
The [A] other chord we need is an A power chord.
You strum these two strings.
So the E power chord is these two.
[B] The A power chord is these two.
Then we need a B power chord, which is still strumming these two.
That note and that note.
Okay?
[Em]
Then that note I was talking about is going to be middle finger on the third fret of the
low E string, which is a G note.
So it starts like this.
Two down strums on the power chord of E.
Then again.
Then middle finger on that third fret right there.
So it goes.
[G] [E]
[G] Then [A] we go to the A power chord.
[B] Two down strums on that.
Then the B power chord.
Middle finger again on that third [G] fret of the low E string.
Then [E] it starts over.
So here it is really slow.
[G] [A]
[B] [G]
[E] [G]
[A] [B] So it does that again.
Then when it goes to the B power chord the second time through, it's down, down.
You can keep your first finger there, but then you have to strum the top two strings down, down.
So it's like B, B, E, E.
[E]
Then E again.
[A]
[E] So here's what we have so far.
[G] [A] [B] [G]
[E] [G] [A]
[B] [E] And the [D] E power chord [F#] again.
[E]
[C#] [F#] And we're going to go ring finger on the twelfth fret of the high E to the tenth fret on the high E.
You can pull it off.
[Bm] Then the twelfth fret of the B.
[A] Then you can slide that down to the tenth fret with your ring finger on the B.
We're going to pull off to the eighth [G] fret.
[E] [A] [Em]
[Bm]
[Am] [Gm] [N] So then when the [E] verse comes in.
[F#] [D] [Em]
[Am] [E] [Em]
[F#] [E]
Finally, you can keep your first finger there, but then it becomes a B power chord.
[F#m] [B] [F] You [A] need [B] E.
[E]
[A] Now there's no guitar. So far.
[Am]
Then we're going to build up on that B power chord right back into the chorus that I taught you in the beginning.
[B] [E] [G]
[A] [B] [E] [Em]
[A] [E] Here's the whole thing.
[F#]
[Em]
[E] We're going to go to B now.
[B]
[F#] A, B, [B] [E] E, [A]
A.
Let it ring out.
[F#] That's the whole thing.
Then build [B] up on the B.
[E] Chorus.
Double A.
[Am] [B] [E] [G] [A]
[B] [G] [E] [G] [A]
[F#] [G] [E] [G] [A]
[E] [F#]
