[C] we'd have like, [G] we'd finish recording for the day, [D] have a couple of beers and that
and then one night he [Bm] said, [G] you know what, me and you should have a [D] group

[Bm] I said, oh that's a good [G] idea, and [D] I said who should we have in it?
He [Bm] said, oh [G] Bob Dillon, I [D] thought, oh Bob Dillon, [C] yeah
How [Bm] about Roy [G] Orbison?
And he said, yeah Roy Orbison [D] would be great
[Bm] And then [G] we both went, well what about, [D] I said, what about Tom [D] Petty?
And [G] he went, oh yeah, I love Tom, because we were just sitting [D] playing with Bob at a concert
[G] Anyway, like the next day, George had phoned everybody up and they all joined on the spot
[C] So it was just, you know, ridiculous
The thing happened completely just by magic, just by circumstances
Maybe there was a full moon that night or something like that
And it [Db] was quite a magical little thing really
And then we went over to LA and _ _ [Bb] we recorded the 10 songs in 10 days
_ _ All sitting around a table, [E] five of us, you know, on acoustics
[Cm] Do five acoustic guitars, broke the song, all the back in in an afternoon
Just shouting chords out, you know, A minor, C7
Why don't we do one like that?

And then _ on the evening we'd have dinner, write the words over [N] dinner
Actually, really, _ sitting writing words, shouting words down
Bob was always great at that, you know, those quick one-liners and quick ten-liners
There's Boro and I got out of the car

About _ to give me a thrill

_ We [Ab] did it for music, that's what it was all about
There wasn't a lot of deciding of [Bb] what to do
Not a lot of time spent [Ab] planning out anything
[Em] So we just [Db] wrote the best songs that we could write [A] and sang them as best we [D] could

And so that was another learning process for me
Because I was used to just, you know, taking my time a little bit, you know
And doing bits here and bits there
But that one was definitely, you've got to get it finished

All we planned was which weeks that we were all available to get together
But apart from that, there was no other plan
I mean, we set up a room where we're going to be
And then we walked in [G] and we started writing the tune

_ [D] Sent [C] to meetings [G] _ hypnotised

[C] He actually had _ the main line, the main guitar [G] riff, but no words yet
And as we were playing that riff together, he looks [C] over at this
He's in Bob's garage
He looks over and sees this box that says, [D] Handle With Care
And that's how the song came about
And then we just wrote the, we all wrote the words around [G] that theme
Even though [D] it was only a cardboard box
[G] So he just showed that anything could be an [D] inspiration
I've been a [C] tain and made [G] a mess
[D] But I've cleaned [C] it up myself, [G] I guess
