Last Date (Floyd Cramer) Part 1 - Piano lesson for beginners chords
Start Jamming...
Hi, Darryl from fasttrackpiano.com and we're going to be doing Floyd Kramer's
Last Date.
Now this is a piano lesson for beginners and we're doing it in many
sections, several short videos.
So this first video is just the introduction,
we'll call it part one.
Now I'm looking at a music guide with all the letters and
the chords that correspond with the right hand.
If you would like the music
guide you can email me at my website and for a small donation I'll send it to
you.
There's a donate button on the homepage of my website.
Okay, here we go.
This is the introduction part one of Last Date.
[C] [G]
[C] [Em]
[B]
[F] Okay again.
[C] [G] [C]
[Em] [B]
Okay so I'm not here to perform the piece for you, I'm here to teach it to
you.
So it's up to you to really practice it and get it good.
Okay so here is the
introduction one more time and then I'll teach it to [F] you.
[C] [G]
[C] [Em]
[B] Okay so let's slow it down
and go through this bit by bit.
We've got an F chord F A C and in the right hand a G
going to an A.
We do a little flip.
This is a Floyd Kramer slip note.
[F]
Might take a
little bit of practice.
So it all goes down together and then we go to a C
chord with an E and a G in the right [C] hand and then we go to a G chord with a B and a D in [G] the
right hand.
So let's just do those three things again.
Up here.
[F] [C]
[G]
Okay and then the
last one is back to a C [C] chord.
So there we go.
Let's do it again.
[G] [C]
Then it goes
down low to a D and a G and you play with your thumb and your fourth finger
[Em]
twice like that.
You've got to keep that G down the whole time.
[A] [B]
We've got that little
bass run at the end.
[Em]
[B]
So that's the introduction part one.
Here it is again.
[F] [C]
[G] [C]
[Em]
[B] Okay I'll do it a couple more times.
[F]
[C]
[G] [C]
[Em]
[B]
One more.
[F]
[C] [G]
[C] [Em]
[B] Now after you've practiced [Dm] that a
million times or a couple hundred you might sound like this.
[C] [G] [C] [Em]
[B] Glad I played it right.
Okay so there we go.
That's part one and practice that until you get it right and
then you can go on to
