Yeah, my parents didn't name me Shaky Graves.
Yeah, that would be weird.
Yeah, it would be a little hard.
Alejandro.
Alejandro, yeah.
When did you first pick up a guitar?
I picked up a guitar when I was 12 and I had been, I'd sort of convinced myself that I
wouldn't play any music.
You know, I used to give the speech, it was like, I can play,
you know, I can play one [F#] song on the guitar and would just like strum the strings
[G] _ _
and nothing would happen.
And then I met the first girl that I dated, which I thought would
be the last girl that I would ever date because you're 12 and you're like, this makes total sense.
And she went to [F#] Mexico and cheated on me three times, which again, I'm not really sure what
that entails when you're 12.
I was going to say, what's cool when you're 12?
She's like holding people's hands everywhere.
So I locked myself in my room and decided that I would lift these little like eight
pound weights that my mom had.
I'm like, I'm going to get ripped.
Yeah.
And I'm going to be like a total guitar shredder by the time she comes back in two months.
Can you tell me about _ the song you're going to play, The Perfect Parts?
Yeah, The Perfect Parts is actually an old tune.
That was one of [F] the first ones that I ever
really [E] penned when I moved out to Los Angeles for the first time when I was
_ like 17.
And that song has gone [Am] through like tons of rehab and it changes all the time.
But
[G] that was originally a song [Bm] kind of about my hometown.
And again, just [C] a story of some girl
that I went [F#] to high school with that I had a crush on that then spiraled into this weird
narrative [Bm] that like, I don't even know what it's about anymore.
[Am] But it's got flavors of
being trapped in [F] your own [G] hometown and _ [E] sort of blaming it all [G] on somebody, whether [B] that's true or not. _
_ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _
_ [Dm] _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ I've been living [Bm] here for [C] you.
[B] _ _ _

_ [D] ballroom [C] shoes. _ _ _ _
[B] _ [E] Yeah, well, I had one too [B] many dreams.
_ [Am] _ _ _ _
Ooh, [G] I found hope on your _ [C] machine.
[B] _ _ _
_ [E] Yeah, well, you didn't answer [B]
my request.
[Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] Oh, you left my whole [D] world on your [F#] screen.

[Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] Yeah, well, we fell in love [Em] at 17.
_ [F#] _ _ _ _ _
Well, sure.
I see.
What have I learned?
What have I [G] learned?
[B] _ _ _ _
Mm.
[G] Except _ love.
Oh, it needs a [C] heart. _ _ _
_ [D] Yeah, well, [E] your eyes will [B] burn and alcohol
_ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [G] will _ _ sterilize the perfect [D] _ _ [F#] parts. _ _
Let's [Em] start.
