[G] [F] [C] Hi guys, this is how to play the classic song Let It Be on piano.
Appropriate for most beginners, it's a bit more at improver level, but if you've been
playing a little while now you should be fine with it.
There are always easier versions as well.
The recommended song book and full kind of free chord sheets are on the website.
The link is in the description if you need a bit more to follow this with chords and lyrics etc.
We start off with a C chord.
I'm doing a lowering version of this C chord.
There's the standard one, there's middle C, there's our C chord.
[C] Little finger in the bass on the C as well.
You could move it up here if you find having your hands closer together a little bit easier.
That's totally cool.
We then move to the [G] G chord.
Standard way of playing the G chord.
Playing that twice.
[C] So, G, [G] G, A [Am] minor.
Just moving up one note.
Keep your right hand still and move your left [F] hand to the bass F.
And then we go little [D] finger changes to a D note there.
[F] Little finger to third.
And a little riff recap.
[C]
[G] G, A minor.
[Am] Right hand stays still, left [F] hand to the F note.
Change that little note there.
One more time.
Three, four.
[G] [Am]
[F] C [C] this time.
To the G [G] the same.
But then we change and [D] then we have that little part.
[C] So that was a C to a [G] G.
F [F] chord.
The standard F, the first inversion.
And then we walk down, little finger, third, middle, first in the right hand.
[C] And by the time you get to that C, hit a C chord again.
[Dm]
[C] So let's have a recap from the top, starting from the C chord in three, four.
[G] [Am] [F]
[C] [G] [F]
[C] Okay?
Jazz it up a little bit.
Keep the left hand on the eighths.
One and two and, okay, down the slow end.
Three, four.
One, two,
[G] four.
[Am] [F] [C]
[G] [C] Jazz it up even more.
It does some little runs.
Left hand only.
[G] [A] [F] Okay, so there's a little run up here.
[A] Thumb, [F] G, F.
That's what it did.
One more time.
Three, [C] four.
[G] [Am] [F]
That's really all the flashy bits in the left hand [C] to finish it off.
[G]
[F] [C] Then we have the chorus.
Let it [Am] be.
Let [G] it be.
Let [F] it be.
[C] Let it be.
Whisper [G] words of wisdom.
Let it be.
[Dm] [C]
Exactly the same chords at the start.
Start the second line.
So whisper words of wisdom.
Let it be.
It's exactly the same.
[G] C to a G chord.
Then an [C] F down to C.
That's the same ending.
The only difference was the first chord.
Let it [Am] be.
So let it be.
A minor to [G] a G.
Then an [F] F [C] and a C.
One more time.
A, G, F, C.
Really [E] working its way down the keyboard.
Three, four.
[Am] Let it be.
Let it [G] be.
Let [F] it be.
Let them [C] sing.
And then you finish as normal.
Whisper [G] words of wisdom, let it [F] be.
[C] One last time.
Here we go, guys.
Here we go.
Three.
Let it [Am] be.
Let [G] it be.
Let [F] it be.
Let [C] it be.
Whisper [G] words of wisdom.
[F] Let it be.
[C] Okey dokey, let's have a bit of a play through now, bit of fun, have a play through from
the start, join in if you can and check out the chord sheet on the website, link is in
the description if you need more help following.
From the top, two, three, four.
[G] [Am] [C]
[G] [F] [C] Verse.
When I find myself [G] in times of [Am] trouble, Mother [F] Mary comes to me.
[C] Speaking [G] words of wisdom, [F] let it be.
[C] Verse again.
And in my [G] hour of darkness, she is standing [F] right in front of [C] me.
Speaking [G] words of wisdom, [F] let it be.
[C]
Chorus A minor, three.
Let it [Am] be, let it [G] be, let it [F] be, yeah let [C] it be.
Whisper words [G] of wisdom, let it [F] be.
